I certainly hope not.

Any reports of those that had the Phils last evening not getting paid?

I guess the next baseball bet I make I need to factor in who i think will be leading after the last completed inning. Maybe that's why I always lose. I havn't been factoring in enough variables. Til next time. I just want to state when I bet on baseball I'm betting on the full game not the 5 inning line. That's why they have 5 innings lines for those who want to predict the winner of 5 innings. Last night I was betting on the game line. Very bad rule that rewards bettors unfairly, and penalizes bettors unfairly.

There are some British books that graded the game "no action".

Yeah,

And MLB have 5 inning lines for those that like to predict the outcome after 5 innings. Hogwash!

The way the rules are at the majority of books, is more than fair.

In fact, it's the best way possible to handle this situation that is fair to both sides.......and that is why it is written like it is.........to protect all sides.

It is not hogwash.

Rule is outdated. We all want fair grading. What would have happened if Tampa scored 9 runs in the top of the 6th to take a 10-2 lead and the game gets suspended. I hope you get hte point. This is an outdated and unfair rule. It is hogwash :lolBIG:

If they scored 20 runs it wouldn't have mattered.........PHILLY DID NOT GET A CHANCE TO BAT IN THEIR HALF OF THE INNING.

Do you understand the game of baseball???????????

Rule has been that way since the beginning of time.

Pinnacle

They are "CONTINUING" all bets that were made LIVE, during the game

Please do not confuse the situation with LIVE BETTING scenarios.........especially from a book that does not cater to US CITIZENS.

I disagree. If MLB has determined that the game is suspended and will be resumed then the rule shoul either grade it a no action or have it determined when the game is picked up. The ML winner ought to match the winner for the game. Think about it...suppose I bet Rays ML....Rays win the game....I lose my bet. Very difficult to reconcile this in my head. Rule makes no sense. Ought to be changed.

That may be true. And obviously the book must grade by their rules. But it doesn't mean it's a good rule that should stay that way. Bad rules should be changed. This is a bad rule. IMHO anyway. It is simply too counterintuitive and too conducive to an odd/unfair result. If your team wins the game in reality you should win the ML. If your team loses the game in reality you should lose the ML. Pretty simple. Should be no way to lose when your team wins. Flies in the face of simple logic, which sometimes says it all.

Illini,

Thats my point. Baseball rules havn't been that way since the beginning of time. Vegas rules need to be adjusted to factor in the change baseball has made in the last couple of years. That's why I argue vegas rules are outdated. Thanks for supporting my argument.

I agree that it's not possible to win the game, but not cover the moneyline. Moneyline bets, by definition, are bets on who will win the game.

However, unless the books are okay with maybe having a bet be live for 90 days before it is decided, then the rule will stay as it is. Are players okay with having their money tied up for 90 days? The rule at sportsbooks may not make sense, but it is fair for all the players and for the books. Each side has an equal chance of benefitting from the rule.

Your bet is still a loser. It isn't going to be changed, so you should just forget it. Go Illini.

I'm not so sure about that. You agree the rule is outdated. Rules are made to be broken, especially unjust and outdated rules.

Mirage - Not grading bets until game is completed
5 dimes - Canceled all bets
sportbook.com - Canceled all bets

Management can definitely do what is right and admit rule hasn't been changed since begginging of time and is now out dated and the graded of bets was unfair. This need to be remedied.
