Pardon me if these rules have been posted in one or more of the many threads regarding Game 5 of the World Series as I have not read them all. Thought these rules would be of interest to everyone.

Personally, I am holding a pending ticket on the RL from Bookmaker as they have determined not to grade totals and runlines until the game is completed.

Bookmaker Rules

Baseball General Rules
Official Game Time

Winners and Losers are official after 5 innings of play unless the home team is leading after 4½ innings. If a game is called or suspended, the score after the last full inning determines the winner. If the home team scores to tie - or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning and the inning is not completed, the score at the time the game is called determines the winner. Monies will be refunded if the home team ties the game and it is then suspended. Events will not carry over to the following day (unless otherwise specified). BookMaker does not recognize suspended games, protests, overturned decisions, etc. for betting purposes.
When betting on the total runs (over/under) the game must go 9 innings (8½ if the home team is ahead) to have action. Wagers on total runs will be refunded if a pitcher change occurs prior to both listed pitchers throwing at least one pitch. Rules for the run line wagers are the same as those for baseball totals.
Game must be played on scheduled date and site.

Pinnacle Rules

Baseball

General:

  1. When wagering on total runs (over/under) the game must go 9 innings (8.5 if the home team is ahead) to have action. If a game is called or suspended in extra innings, the score will be determined after the last full inning unless the home team scores to tie, or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in which case the score is determined at the time the game is called.
  2. Wagers on total runs will be refunded if a pitcher change occurs prior to both listed pitchers throwing at least one pitch.
  3. Rules for Run Line and Alternate Run Line wagers are the same as those for baseball totals.
  4. The result of a game is official after 5 innings of play unless the home team is leading after 4.5 innings. If a game is called or suspended, the winner is determined by the score after the last full inning unless the home team scores to tie, or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in which case the winner is determined by the score at the time the game is called. Monies will be refunded if the home team ties the game and it is then suspended. Events will not carry over to the following day unless otherwise specified.
  5. Pinnacle Sports does not recognize postponed games, protests or overturned decisions for wagering purposes. All baseball wagers must go the day written, otherwise there is no action and all monies are refunded.

pinnacle has somehow determined that these above posted rules do not apply if you wagered in LIVE BETTING.

their decision is illogical (IMO)

Maybe Bookmaker is going to grade every ticket a winner. They certainly are going to have a lot of pissed off people if they don't follow their own rules.

Did 5 Dimes really keep the bets open? That tells me that they were heavy on Phillies money. That puts them at sportsbook.com level.

Bookmaker has determined the game was not "suspended", so they have got the game in play.

Like I keep saying bad rules are meant to be broken. This rule is horrendous. Comps to any book that uses logic and fairness in grading of their bets.

that seems odd also, I didnt have any action at bookmaker.

I did wager uner 6 -104 at pinny when the score was 2-1, so I figured my bet would be cancelled since the event was not finished on game day.

however,

pinny says no.

either way, I could sill easily win as one of these two teams may very well win 3-2. but i still think its a funny decision and I havent seen any logical reason they can keep this going.

BS. They won't grade the RL. I just got off the phone and they are holding the game open and will not grade my ticket until the game is complete.

Records are made to be broken, not rules. A rule is a law. It must be followed. If it isn't, then the shop is no longer reputable.

there seems to be some misunderstanding here.

OMT says they are holding his ticket open, but Amsel claiming that they are graded?

I cannot imagine that this not be NO ACTION at bookmaker like everywhere else?

amstel, can you answer an unrelated question?

why is Moneybookers no longer listed as a DEPOSIT option but it is still listed as a WITHDRAWAL option?

this crazy with books not following their own rules !

doug, they clain that this rule:

"All Live lines are for the complete game score."

overrides all the regular MLB rules. I dont see how that makes sense.

I am willing to be convinced if someone has a clear argument, but to me, standard baseball rules should apply, despite the LIVE BET.

Betting on the COMPLETE GAME SCORE is no different wether you did it before the game or after the game started, and should have no power to overide standard baseball rules?

How is it that rules stating the event must be completed on game day rules are completely thrown out?

I havent read Pinnacle's rules. But if that's all that it says, I can see why they are keeping it open. At Matchbook, the rules were the same as totals, stating that the game had to go 8.5 or 9 innings to have action. Matchbook had no choice but to void all bets, and Pinny.....I kind of think they have an argument. Live betting is so new that there is no precedent, only what is written in the rules.
