How in the hell did the sport of football get to this point? Just saw it called in the Cowboys-Giants game and I can't believe this is a rule. Any defender who makes a head-on tackle on the QB is likely to get flagged. What have they turned this game into?

Saw the same thing you saw.
I grew up with Staubach, Bradshaw, Griese, etc. etc.
They were real QB's, who took real hits, in a real football league, this is 2 hand touch football.

Thse type of rules have evolved as the $$ investment in skill players has skyrocketed out of control. Owners get cheap insurance at the expense of the fans.
