Starting my 4 month here in Vegas and 3rd month "betting for a living". I have a lot to talk about but going to have to break it up into sections.

Just weighed myself and I have gained 5lbs in 3 weeks. I cant quit eating lately. I am not a big guy, just averaged sized, 5-10 190's but I have lost 20 lbs a handful of times when I get close to 210 and am back down to my ideal weight right now so the 5lbs is the start of trouble if I dont keep my eye on it.

As from a betting prespective I had a huge weekend. Now I hope most arent getting the wrong impression as October was the 2nd biggest month I have ever had since I started betting seriously in over 2 years ago. The thing I am most proud of is I made my own numbers and bet them and won doing this. Something I have always wanted to focus on but never had the time, esp with cfb. I know more than anyone that it wont be this easy but I have won at over a 5% stretch since I have been here, whihc is double what I have won in the past and what I expected, so I fully expect some rough times ahead. But never thought it would start out this great. Thank god for that.

One of my books balances is at 10k and I have never carried that much money in one book at once. I will keep everyone posted on how this payoff goes. That is one thing with winning, it seems you bust out at a a few books and for no particular reason beat the same book over and over.

Started betting hoops last week and it was total mass confusion for me. Not in a rhythm at all. I preach about beating the closing line and usually do with football as the information I use and the people I follow do just that. I have the utmost confidence when betting football at openers, which has been huge in my success with football betting. With the NBA I have been a little lost but thankfully have broke around even with it. Once again the whole 4pm start times have thrown me for a loop and I keep forgetting about halftimes, etc. Betting basketball is pretty much an all day affair and I have not been keeping up with it like that. I am going to write down a plan today from my notes from previous years. Their are certain books that have lines up in the morning I need to be in also. Probably lay a little low this week and the NBA. Dont get me wrong I love betting this sport as betting apex lines mean everything in it.

Been following the tout Dr. Bob in his cfb plays. Just one of many ways I come up with my plays. What a fantastic year he has had. I am in the minority when it comes to purchasing ones play's. I am looking into a guy for hoops who I have followed for years and when you figure out the math it all adds up. Sure 99% of the touts suck but they are some good ones out there who are hard working and honest.

Going to the doctor today. I dont have a family doctor here in Vegas but need one for some BP medication I am on. This sucks and have no idea where to go.Probably just go to a guy who is closet to me. Went to the same guy back home for almost 20 years and he knew EVERYTHING about me.

Have some exciting news but dont want to jump the gun till I find out for sure (no one is pregnant, LOL). I am in a few local contests where you pick the games straight up. Have done pretty good in them but never really much of a sniff in the weekly awards as the winner goes undefeated or has one loss every week. In 2 of the contests I have only one loss this week. Going to run down to them later today and see if I have a chance. One prize is a new car. I know it is still a huge shot in the dark but you never know. I think 10k is the other weekly winner. There are other prizes for finishing how towards the top every week. Will be back to keep everyone posted.

Good luck with those contests.

Get off the BP medicine and start eating healthy and walking.

Try garlic capsules, fish oil, and doing 40 minutes of walking daily........and lower your sodium intake considerably, while also drinking lots of pure water.

If it's still high, see me for some more intensive diet changes.

I want you off this medication in 9 months or sooner.

If you're in the Boyd contest, the prize could be as high as 30 grand if you win by yourself.

It's frustrating when you go to take a look at the board and see that someone has no losers. That really hurts, especially when there are some upsets.

Had high BP the last few years. Doctor didnt want to put me on it but everytime I went back it got higher and higher. Stress from my last job didnt help. I honestly walk (because of my dogs) more than anyone I know. I personally (gf does too) take them on 2-3 20-30 walks everday and havent missed a day in a year. Like I said you would look at me and NEVER think I was on BP medication. I am not big at all. Normal size guy completely. Doctor said they call it the silent killer and it is hereditry more than anything. I could probably eat a little healthier but who couldnt. Since I have been on the medication (only thing I take) my bp has been 120/80 everytime. Pretty easy to control this way. He didnt want to put me on it as he said once you get on it they dont like to ever take you off.

I am in the boyd's contest as well but for some odd reason I played Oakland on the good ticket and have 2 losses there. It is the Palms and Stations where I am doing great this week.

Ice,

Good luck tonight in the contests, glad to hear you are still a vegas success story. I posted this question in you october thread but I dont think you saw it. If you time to answer I'd appreciate, but I understand if you're busy. Keep picking winners regardless.

How do you determine when to buyback from an earlier bet. I have been experimenting with betting nba openers and have been pretty successful and getting a line which is much better from the closing number. However, I am just guessing when to buy back and try and middle.

A few days ago, I had a 3 point difference between the opening bet and the closing line, didn't buy back and the bet lost.

The very next night, I had a 3.5 point difference and bought back half the bet and of course my original bet one.

After these two experiences, I just stopped trying for a middle or reducing exposure and went with the +ev bet.

Just wondering what you do with these.

FOr instance tonight I have under 192.5 in the oklahoma city game and I see it a pinnacle at 89.5 with a -110 lean towards the under. Would you buyback this bet? When? How much? etc.

Thanks for your help.

Jet,
I seen it but forgot to answer it, sorry.

I would only buy back if I felt like I had to much on one side and didnt want that kind of exposure. I would most likely keep the bet if I had a great number as that is the sole purpose of betting for me, beating the closing number.

Now dont get me wrong there are some type bets I make for the sole purpose of buying back all of it and then some but the majority my focus is on getting down a bet at a great number. Hope this answers your question. i say whatever you decide to you should make this your approach because you will drive your self nuts if you go back and forth with this. Good luck!!

ICE,

I'll be in Vegas the first weekend in Dec for NFR and the fight. If you're free I'll buy you a drink or two and discuss life if you can make it. Thanks for posting what's going on in your day to day life... it makes good reading. GL

Thanks. I use the best line service out there, SportsOptions. I cant tell you how many times they have won me money in the longrun. Bottom line information is the key and getting it faster than anyone else wins.

I dont use a lot of Pinny's info as much as I did in the past too find value as I am doing some different things right now with capping the games on my own being one of them BUT I try and make sure that my bet is always better than the current Pinny number. If you beat the no vig closing pinny line on average by 2 cents it equals about a 1% edge ROI, so that is always my focus to make sure I beat that.
