If this is not proof that we are way past the days of slavery I dont know what is.

Although I did not vote for Obama(not because of race) this proves that a black or minority can go as far as they want to go in life. The American Dream at least for now is alive and well. You can be what you want to be regardless of race or backgound.

I hope that this messege becomes loud and clear to everyone. People have been using race (mainly minorities) as an excuse for over a century. If Obama getting elected ends all that, then maybe this will turn into a good thing down the road.

Congrats to Obama and all his supporters. I did everything in my power to keep him from winning, now that he has won its time for me to turn the page and give him my support until he proves unworthy of my support.

Lets hope this ends all the race, hate and division that we have been fighting all these years.

I am giving Obama my 100% support until he proves to me that he does not deserve it.

I am laying all my prejudgments aside and giving him a clean slate.

That is something that I am sure that many Obama supporters would not have done for McCain.

Obama is one guy not God!

Black people are still going to be as poor (or rich) as they were today unless they work as hard as they would have under a white president.

They will probably still get beat down or harassed by those same people would do that to them under a white president!

You do know that the Civil Rights Act was only passed in 1968?

White people want to cry about reverse racism, why we don't start by getting racism at the Ivy Leagues and just allow them to be what they would be, completely Asian.

The point is, if a black person with the name Hussian Obama can have the highest job in all the land, this removes all excuses that a black person does not have the same level playing field that anyone else has.

I wish Obama would say that in his speach tonight, but he probably wont.

Just cause we have a black President it still doesn't excuse individuals from being racist. I am pretty sure all of those racist cops aren't just going to wake up tomorrow morning and realize that not all blacks are criminals simply because the President is now a brotha.

Personally I think by having a black President it actually gives white people in a position of power to deny blacks more (especially the ones that voted for Obama). They will think that they can't possibly have a racist or stereotypical bone in their body or else they would have voted for McCain. Besides there is not one non black person here who wouldn't have second thoughts about their daughter bringing home a black men. Black people can f uck up a family gene pool.

Yes I am a black individual and I will admit it I have used the race card on more then one occasion. But deep down inside I do know your life is pretty much what you make of it and this country is full of wonderful opportunities and endless second chances. However one thing I will say is trying to rent a house as a 25-35 year old single black male is nearly impossible.
