7) Utah 10-0
9) Boise St. 9-0
14) Ball St 9-0
17) BYU 9-1

So unless Pitt/Cincy can move ahead of these guys (which I doubt since they play each other and a few other teams), there will be 3 at-large this year? (Boise, Ball St, and winner of Utah/BYU)

that should really eat into the BCS conf cash prizes

I am not a judge of who deserves what.....but it is pretty clear to me the only way a non-BCS team could ever think about a BCS championship is to run the table 2 consecutive year.....while returning a good core of players for year #2

I believe only one non BCS team gets an auto-qualifier under that rule. The rest is up to the committee.

In that case, BYU and Ball st have no shot.....

....no way a 1-loss gets the nod ahead of their own schools.

....no way Boise AND Utah make it, regardless of how hard they have worked with what schedule they have been dealt.

I am fine with like a Boise going or Utah or something....but the mac isnt football....the teams these guys play week in and week out doesnt compare. they would be sore for months after playing a big time school

I actually would bet Boise gets an at-large.

people would be more excited to see them again, and to see if they are for real than they would be about a bullshit big east team.

I agree with the MAC being a lower tier, but going undefeated is the best they can do....give cinderella a shot at going to the dance.

I would rather see Boise than Utah, TCU over Utah, BYU over Utah.....but Utah gets in, and Boise has the slimmest of chances.

Whichever mid major gets a BCS bid will get destroyed in their bowl game. Whether it's BSU, Utah, BYU, or Ball State.

This is the same rhetoric I heard when I & Jake guaranteed they would run the table & beat a BCS team in the bowl from the beginning of the season a couple of years ago.

I think Boise has what it takes to keep up with any team in the country....they may lose but I doubt destruction comes into play with their game.

BSU played a weak Big 12 champion in Oklahoma. If they play any of the Big 12 juggernauts, USC, or an SEC school they will lose by 14+. I really hope they do end up playing one of those teams so we can put the mid major BS to rest.

I believe Utah handled Florida in the Fiesta bowl a few yrs back . mid majors are 2-1 in bcs bowl games. however like Kermit says the games are meaningless other than betting purposes, and home town fans. something needs to be done, and soon.

on that note can someone explain to me why a playoff is impossible? i assume it's $$, but i don't see how a playoff couldn't earn more?
