went to the lightning / wings hockey game thursday night .

my daughter and i are wings fans so we drove from the east coast of florida over to tampa and went to game.

i bought club level tickets . 100 bucks each . good seats . in the corner above the lower level .

here is where we need to speak up : 32 BUCKS for a slice of cheese pizza , an 8 inch cheese steak which was " steak " and cheese whiz . nothing else on it. 1 bottle of water . and a 20 oz. heineken .

32 FRIGGIN DOLLARS .. are you kidding me .

i would love to see every fan who attends a sporting event during the next week not spend a dime once their inside the arena.

their needs to be a message sent that its not ok to charge these kinds of prices.

True. I was at the AC/DC concert two weeks ago and beers were $7.50. Line must have been 50-75 deep.

you got off cheap for the $100 ticket...

now, factor in a "marketable" sport in a competitive market...if I want to see the Patriots play...i'm spending a few hundred on a single ticket in the 300 level, upper, upper deck...then factor in parking/vending prices.

You guys have it all wrong as you want a winning team correct?

Well as stated above a soda cost 7.50 at Yankee stadium and you should really have to pay more than that as if you spent nothing how then will they give CC sixty million fucking dollars?

We all have to pay for those who have a sticker who don't need it.

Try attending a minor league sport instead. Prices are very reasonable and you can have just as fun with whoever you are with
Easier to get in an out after the game. More people should catch on to this.

Or try something like womens volleyball at a local college with your daughter That will be virtually free, you will be near the court, it should work out.

Many minor league baseball teams for instance have recently built very nice little stadiums. Can be very enjoyable.

no question ... have done the minor league thing many many times . their is a team 20 minutes from here .

i just think if the fans united and stopped attending pro sports all together , the salaries would come down and the cost of going would come way down .

its just sick how out of control it has gotten .

obviously no reason why the top players cant survive on 2 or 3 million instead of 10 to 15 million . or over 20 in some cases.

I can't figure how those 4 items can add up to 32. Seems impossible.

chesse steak = 10
slice of pizza = 6
water + beer = 14.50 . gave the dude 1.50 for his " trouble " of standing there handing me my change.

i guess the water was maybe 4.50 and the beer was 9.50 . all i know is i had 4 bucks left after handing him a 20 .

The best way to send a message is to stay home. If you must attend, at least sneak in your own liquor, buy a soda and mix away.

You like the Wings, eh? Ever go to a game at the Joe? Ilitch charges top dollar for everything. 22 oz draft beers are $8.50 this year. The Stanley Cup locker room hats are $35. Thirty-five fucking dollars for a fucking hat! Unreal.

Used to go to A's games religiously bleacher bums before Mount Davis.

We would walk out to the parking lot getting our hands stamped with our beer cups in hand.

Re fill walk back in......those were the days my friends and we thought they'd never end.

But I guess all good thing must pass.

You guys are naming all the reasons why I stay home and watch games on my 52" sony hdtv. Better than paying $300 and needing binoculars.

I went to a Dodger game early this past season. I bought my cousin and I each a California Pizza Kitchen small cheese pizza ($9.00 each) and a Coke ($5.00 each) - Grand total $28.00. This is beside the fact the pizza was without a doubt the worst that I have ever eaten. It tasted the same as I would imagine cardboard tastes like.
