talking about the Steelers TD called back on Around the Horn:

"for all the gamblers out there these are the perils of gambling, go spend the money on your wife and kids for christmas dont gamble"

Shut the fuck up you moron, just because someone layed a bet down on a Sunday afternoon doesnt mean he's broke and wont buy shit for his family.

His 'schtick' will eventually run out in Bristol...

Hopefully they hand him his pink slip on 12/24/08.:toast:

That blowhard used to provide some of the best "toilet-paper-insurance" when he wrote for the Sun Times.

theyre all a bunch of hipocrates! I heard Jim Rome calling gambler all losers and degenerates earlier BUT he also used to promote some off shore sportsbooks in the past. I guess because he is benefiting from it he isnt considered a degenerate in his small mind.

Someone on ESPN posed this question.

Since it was supposedly a forward lateral, which is a penalty, didn't the Steelers have the right to decline the penalty and the TD allowed? Think about that one!

Very true and now the Officals want a replay for the replay? Funny cause I thought this is what the replay was all about? Bottom line: Replays should be eliminated period! I remember those days... :toast:

If the lateral hits the ground, the play is over. The refs called the play over, either thinking it hit the ground or not knowing the rule.

Either way they fucked it up big time.

Marriotti had a big time coke problem back in the days of Rush street... for him to talk about going and buying shit for wife and kids is a joke.

My favorite part about the show is that he's got a skyscraper behind him. He should be having his parent's basement as a background since no one wants to give him a job.

If not for gambling pro sports would be nowhere as popular as they are. Mariotti would than be out of job.

The sports media conglomerate is as incestuous as the military industrial complex. It is why these fixes are continually ignored and swept under the rug.

In the Stone Age before replay, I would hate the ref for a day or two and eventually move on to my next bad beat. Deep down I knew how hard calls are to make at full speed and wrote the bad beat off to human error like everyone should. In the present day cuckoo's nest of replay, there is a group of wizards that get to watch it frame by frame and they are still not doing much better than batting .500 (seemingly less on heavy pressure calls.) Even a ref with a half pint in his back pocket can match this performance! I really don't think about hating the refs anymore, as they are almost insignificant in their incompetence compared to the booth guys...Almost as bad as watching the booth guys blow a game or a cover is watching them review a play that is totally unnecessary to review in the first place. Most of these types of reviews that I have witnessed are in college games. It really makes me get off my lazy ass and think about doing something constuctive on a Saturday. The TV guys can't like that. "Keep that lazy bastard in his chair!" would be the obvious philosophy for all of these related parties and advertisers, but keeping this replay stuff around just makes me eat less, drink less beer, and gamble less. I actually go outside now and do work sometimes.I really hope they get rid of replay soon...
