Anyone here have an XBOX 360?

Ok, so here's the story, I've only played XBOX probably 10 times in my life. I'd go over to a friends every now and then and play some war type game, call of duty 3?

Anyways, a friend asked me if I wanted to buy an XBOX he had. He had an extra one or whatever, but he owed me $40 so I bought it for 110$ from him. First of all, is that a pretty good deal? I got the consule and a control(with all the hook ups obviously), but that's it.

My question for you experts or pros out there is what tips for playing this game do you have? Is there a website that has helpful tips as far as playing online or what games to buy, etc...?

I'm pretty clueless when it comes to how I'd play online and what not.

What price range am I looking at in buying games, controlers, or whatever else I might need?

XBox 360 would be a good investment since it's winter. Call of Duty just came out with a new game called modern warfare or some shit like that. I play Tiger Woods golf and a few other games here and there. XBox 360 is also a good investment because Netflix is going to be parterning up with Microsoft to start streaming live Movies to the XBox360, i had a friend of mine set mine up so its got wireless and I can play music and movies off it as like a media center which is bad ass

there are several models of XBox 360 out now though, arcade, the medium one and the Elite. one has a hard drive and one doesn't and shit i dunno what the other one is. plenty of guys here play it i'm sure and could fill in the gaps

Tiger Woods and Madden from a sports fanatic here is the best. As he said, Call of Duty is a a great battle game too. Nice price on the box as well!

The XBOX I have has a HardDrive. I am pretty sure it's not the elite though.

What type of prices are new games or "used" like Madden09 now since they've been out awhile?

The elite is all black. I think you have the one most of us have (the white one with the 20GB hard drive).

Madden '09 is still full retail price 59.99 as mentioned above, it's not that old yet. If you go to game stop you might catch a break by seeing a used copy on the shelf, but I doubt it.

gamespot.com is a good place to go if you are trying to figure out what games are good and what games are crap.

Grats on getting a 360, I would go stir crazy during the winter without it.

Yes, that is the one I have.

I want to buy the NCAAF 2009 game. I played that at my friends place and it was pretty sick graphics.

Halo 3 is good shit. Only complaint is not a lot of levels for single-player, but the levels do take awhile, so it's not a huge deal if you're just getting started.

I concur with all the above, all of EA's sports games are fantastic. I own all of them, except NBA Live which I haven't got around to trying yet. Also, if you are an action junkie, I'd recommend grabbing Gears of War 2, the game is fantastic. Another terrific game that just came out is Fallout 3, give that a whirl, it's like a modern world RPG set in a post apocalyptic Washington DC, the graphics will blow you away. It's a great time to buy one though, lots of great games are out or coming out due to the Holidays.

Got NCAAF 2009 today and it's pretty sick. Just gotta get used to all the buttons. Find myself throwing to the wrong targets often! Also, find myself not knowing what buttons do what lol
