My local book just closed up shop. Lost way more money in teh last 3 weeks than he could afford.

Are the books really getting killed this year?

The last 3 weeks in the NFL my local guy is losing so I guess that means the books are losing.

Small time books that dont know what they are doing or dont have the money to get you long term might be losing..but books never lose in the long run.

Books(real books, not your local guys) aren't getting killed. Those of you that believe that are living in a bubble world. They have mathematics on their side. They never have to worry as long as gamblers keep betting.

This is a smaller local book. He said bookies lose 1 out of 7 years.

Obviously large companies hardly ever lose.

It is feast or famine for the books but that being said they work on the 5% vigorous i.e..... juice.

They may not get balanced action on each game but they have good and bad days and weeks that all balances out over the course of a season and that is where the 5% works it's self out.

In other words it all comes out in the wash over time.
