It kind depends on the situation. I have money loaned out (still) to around 5 people and they never pay me back and I feel like crap when I finally ask. Pretty sad but I feel like I am doing something wrong asking for my money back. I have and still do purposely avoid certain people cause they OWE ME money. Sad!!!

If we were at a casino and a guy was short on cash cause he didnt bring enough then no problem on the spot but if he was broke and couldnt afford his lfifestyle and needed to 2k to pay for something then you have to ask how is he going to pay you back, it will be slowly meaning you will always be behind camping trips, nights out to the bar, gifts for his lady, bills, restaurant's, etc. Believe me I have got burned more then I can count.

A lot of times your going to get 2K back quicker than you'll get $20...dunno y but people tend to take the larger sum seriously and just blow off the $20..
Guy runs a store by me, he says he has people come in there everyday for months. 1st time he lets them go a buck on a 6 pack or something he never sees em again...

Have you ever typed a response less than a book?

Plus this is a very serious subject to me. I have got burned/slow paid more times then I can count.

The thing is I like helping people out but loaning people money can sometimes really suck. Just wanted to explain myself.

Look on the bright side. You got those deadbeats out of your life for a price. If they don't respect you enough to pay you back then who cares about them and why would you want them as a friend? A true friend would pay you back even if it's at a 10 buck a week clip. If they ever come back to you for money (they won't unless they have balls of steel) then you have an excuse to not lend it to them.

On more thing, if you think they won't ever pay you back, then call them up and tell them that you just won over 100k on a slot an that you are forgiving their debt. Tell them that you know how much in a pinch they must be in not to have paid you anything back on the loan even if it was 10 bucks a month because you think so highly of them and know they are hurting. They might feel bad and try to pay you back.
