After USC blows ND out will this be the end of Charlie Weiss as a head coach?

I just don't think the whole USC package is worth of any more than a #8-10 ranking. Certainly not in the top 5.

Offensively they look lost at times.

I think CW needs to be replaced.

He was handed and won with a team with Brady Quin and all up classmen.

Reminds me of Larry Coker who won all those games with Butch Davis recruits.

Notre Dame has signed Weis to a new 10-year deal, the school announced Saturday.

The deal will make him the highest paid coach in college football, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Sources pegged the extension between $30 and $40 million. One source said it was closer to the high end of that range.

Weis originally had signed a six-year contract through the 2010 season when he was hired last December. This new deal takes effect next season and runs through 2015.

What the hell were they thinking?!

This is why you dont sign the unprovens to high salary long term GM and coaching jobs.

Weis has never even been a head coach before. Just a very successful offensive cordinator for the patriots.

He should go back to the NFL. I think they have better pre-game buffets there.

I think he did well in the nfl b/c:

He cheated...
He had BB as a head coach..
He had Brady...
He had a nasty ass defense to get him great field position and help them win games...

He had it all working for him. No doubt about it. Kind of sucks because I think his heart was in the right place and truly wanted to make ND an elite football team again.

When they played USC tough when USC had Bush and Lienart (it can be argued that ND should have won the game) I expected huge things out of ND for their future. I'm sure many of us did. To see what's going on now is a bit suprising.

Yep. honestly Willingham might of had the same success that year b/c that was a very senior team.

I think they will give him another year. They need to have a lot of improvement or he will get bought out. CW is a rich mofo for doing nothing...
