Need computer advice....there was a blackout last wednesday.

ever since the power went back on, I turn the computer on and the lights go on but the monitor doesn't display anything.

I'm sure it isn't the monitor because I can plug the monitor into another comptuer and it works.

I think that the computer isn't booting up correctly....the green light on the power button lights up, and I hear noises but I don't think the noisy fan is going on....when I push buttons on the keyboard then it makes some noises.

Oh yeah, computer is a dell that is about 4 years old.

Busted motherboard? Am I f'ing retarded and missing something?

work computer....so I don't care if it is fried.....

info backed up on server so no big loss except having to buy a new computer (the desk is vacant for the next month so as you can see the computer isn't an important one)

The video card could have become partially unseated too... it's worth checking out.

Moot point though if the computer has an integrated video card.
