What a joke. F*ck you A-Rod. Go play with the Dominican we don't need you!. The DR roster will be loaded with Ortiz, Guerrero, Arod, Ramirez. Geez. American stars need to come out and be heard this March.

If he has nationality from the dominican why can't he play there? especially with how the majority of american people treat him..

a-rod is still the best player in the game by far and will go down as the best player of all time. i just wish he didnt play for the fucking yankees..

with all due respect, i think yer nuts

A-rod is a phony person (the anti-Jeter, if you will), and while i agree America loves little more than piling on the embarrassing, in this case it is justified.

The man took 250 million dollars and almost ruined baseball to jump to a team in the same division after telling the Seattle fans how much he loved and appreciated them for 3 years -- that should tell you all you need to know about his loyalty and character, but in the end that is just a drop in the egotistical bucket that is the sellout A-rod

He is clearly one of the most talented players of all time, but he is not even close to the best. He's going to have to do something when it counts to even enter that argument. Had Edgar Martinez not doubled to beat the Yanks in game 5 in the most famous at-bat in Seattle history, we'd have been introduced to his lack of substance a lot earlier. A-rod was standing on deck, and we all know he'd have popped up to end it. =)

P.S. FWIW, he is also a very cheap tipper and, according to a waitress friend of mine, has an extraordinarily small penis. Makes perfect sense to me :lolBIG:

He played for the red white and blue in 06. You don't just all of a sudden switch nations. He is the best, I agree, but he's going to get plenty of backlash for this decision. The USA gave him all his opportunities in life, he's lived in America his whole life. Makes no sense, just being a pre-madonna! Speaking of Madonna!

All that does is tell us his loyalty and character is exactly the same as everyone else. What does that say about the man who offered him $250 million?

Find it hard to believe that representing the country and culture of your parents in exhibition games is traitorous

If he wants to honor his family and the country he spent time growing up in in a baseball tournament that doesn't even pay anything, he should be allowed to without questioning it

coming from someone who is posting a racist avatar ,I don't think this is going to mean much.If Those guys in 68 can give a black power salute maybe more athletes will be allowed to give a white power salute. :ohno:

arod is a great athlete who seems like a very lost person, this is a horrible decision.all this crap about kabbalah and madonna certainly won't endear him to many either.its a shame really.

Fighting against segregation is racist? If that was such a racist statement, why does even the IOC and USOC and virtually everyone else in the sports world now celebrate Smith and Carlos?

Being lost has nothing to do with loyalty

it was 68, was long after segregation laws were overturned, that these tools made these race power salutes.the nazis did the same thing during the olympics in germany with the straight armed salute.

those guys were tools for communists and others with agendas in the us, and their lives were never really the same.

it was a vile statement to make on what should have been a great day for america.the truth is they are far from celebrated except with espn and the liberal media and back then they were not celebrated for this act.
