Unless Florida wins by 40 there is really no way to say who is #1 this year

Switch Boise with TT and you'd have a great 8 team playoff

If you had a legit 8 team playoff with automatic entries from the 6 BCS conference champions it would leave both TT and Boise out. The at large teams Texas & Bama would be rated this year way ahead of Boise etc.

Fla v. V. Tech
Okla v. Cincy
Texas v. Penn St
USC v. Bama

I would want the 8 teams selected by a committee - no automatic bids - the SEC could get 4 teams in some years - you can't tell me the winner of the BE should be invited to this party - nor some of those Big 10 teams

You have to give a winner of a BCS conference champion a bid, then the non playoff proponent can still argue that the regular season still means something.
You can't win a conference and not get rewarded. The Conference championship has to mean something. If that keeps the 4th team out of another conference out so be it.

Iowa is certainly the best 4 loss team....I would put them above most of the 3 loss teams on the list. Iowa vastly underrated. Best RB in nation, top 7 defense. I like the spot they are in though, probably blow out an SEC team in the Outback Bowl. --

I think 5th Jan 1 bowl in past 8 years. (Outback x3, Capital One, Orange Bowl)

A convincing win in the Outback Bowl could and should secure Iowa a preseason TOP 10 AP ranking next season.

If you thought that, your CFB intelligence would be rated very low.

Iowa has a storied football program dating back to the late 1800's........a program that has produced numerous All-Americans, a Heisman Trophy winner, a national championshop, numerous bowl appearances, many season ending finishes ranked in the top ten, and the loyality and following of the team by their fans that takes a backseat to no team in the nation.

Penn State could very well end up ranked #2 in the nation...........wouldn't that be something.
