Primm hotel rates for locals: free

By Liz Benston · December 9, 2008 · 12:49 PM
Remember the days when casinos gave away rooms and meals to attract gamblers?
Herbst Gaming, which is close to bankruptcy, is resurrecting a bygone tradition by offering locals a free one-night stay at any one of its three Primm hotels, two complimentary passes to amusement rides and two free tickets to a burlesque cabaret at Whiskey Pete's.
Call it the Red Light Recession Special.
The offer, which begins on Wednesday, is available through Dec. 31 at www.primmspecials.com.
Herbst began giving away tickets to arena shows at Primm during the summer.
For non-locals, rooms at its Buffalo Bill's, Whiskey Pete's and Primm Valley Resort casinos can now be had for less than $30 Monday through Thursday.

Buffalo Bill's hotel-casino in Primm reopening

Monday, December 21, 2009
(12-21) 16:36 PST PRIMM, Nev. (AP) --
Officials say Buffalo Bill's hotel-casino in Primm will reopen this week after almost two weeks of maintenance.
Herbst Gaming decided to close its largest casino and hotel in Primm during what is usually the slowest time of the year. Herbst Gaming general counsel Sean Higgins says the company has two other properties in Primm — Whiskey Pete's and PrimmValley Resort.
Higgins says constructions crews did nearly three months' worth of work over the nearly two-week period by working 24 hours a day.
The 1,242-room hotel is reopening Thursday.
Primm is about 40 miles southwest of Las Vegas on the Nevada-California state line.
The casino work comes as Herbst Gaming is completing its restructuring under Chapter 11.

Who in their right mind ( that lives in LV) would want to drive the 40 miles to the middle of nowhere ( stateline), for a free room ?

This a stop for Californians that want a taste of LV, before actually getting there.

No real gambler plays there.

Why do they have 1,242 rooms ?

Maybe a retired LV senior couple would take the free room...for something to do, but they don't spend money.

I think they should give this to Ca people, instead, maybe get their monies before they make it to LV ?

no one with sense of sanity or under the age of 88 even contemplates staying at Stateline. When i drive to Vegas from SoCal, I and everyone in my car laughs when we pass Stateline. What a dilapidated dump. Why would anyone stay at Stateline when Vegas is giving away rooms for free. I have 3 free night offers from Bellagio, Mandalay, and Aria. Don't go to Stateline, and if you do bring a blacklight for the sheets. gl

I hate to break this to you but I have seen stories on TV that some of the most prestigeous hotel chains in the US have bedbugs !
I have stayed at stateline on several occasions and my wife and I will be staying there again on Jan 15. They have some very decent concerts there and the concert venue is small with great seats thoughout ! I would much prefer to go to a concert at Primn than at the MGM Garden. My wife and I will be seeing Johnny Mathis there and all locals get their tickets 2/1. I bought tickets to see Johnny Mathis for his Christmas Concert at the Orange County Performing Arts center 2 weeks ago and paid well over $ 100 each and sat in row Q. I just purchased 2 tickets for $ 71 total and will sit in row E dead center. We will be staying in a King Suite at Buffalo Bills and the room will be very nice ! Actually far better room than any I have stayed at the Imperial Palace. BTW The best room deal in Las Vegas by far is at the Cannery East if you have a car.
