I am pretty sure I read awhile back that his job was secure per Jerry Jones but this ended ugly, to a rival so what do you think? Does he survive this? This team has too much talent too not make the playoffs.

Isnt the o-corddinator (garret) the guys everyone wants running the show? Will he step in now or will he get canned also?

Inetersting things starting too take place all over the league.

Can't wait to hear the backlash from this. After listening to a local Dallas Sports station this week question JJ again about the job security that Phillips had, Jones almost went balistic. he stated over and over again he didn't understand why this was asked all the time and Phillips had job security and would be back next year without any hesitsation. You wanna bet?

When the team leads the NFL in penalties it's a direct reflection of the head coach. Wade's teams always fade in the stretch and get worse year by year and they DON'T protect the football. I wouldn't be surprised if they finish 6-10 next year. Unless of course Wade and Garrett get the boot and Cowher is brought in.

Doesn't matter. That team flat out just sucks. Alot of talent, but nothing to show for it. Romo has looked like shit too quite a few games.

Look for Jones to do something dumb if he doesn't fire Wade.

Getting Vick to backup Romo would be a stretch for anyone except Jerry.

problem with the team is romo... people always say they have soooo much talent and they do but people include romo in that and he is the exact opposite of "talented"...

I can't envision Cowher wanting to work for a guy like Jones... he is way too hands on for Cowher's liking.

Dallas Cowboys: Head Coach Wade Phillips Out, John Fox or Bill Cowher In?

By Blake Oestriecher
(Featured Columnist) on October 26, 2010

The Dallas Cowboys dropped to 1-5 on Monday night with a loss against the New York Giants that also saw the team lose quarterback Tony Romo, possibly for the rest of the season.
And no matter how many times team owner Jerry Jones says that Wade Phillips is his coach, it's all but assured that Phillips will not be coaching in Dallas next season.
According to ESPN's NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Cowboys will be making drastic changes to the coaching staff unless the team miraculously turns its season around and makes the playoffs.
"The Dallas Cowboys are going to make some wholesale changes for next year. Start thinking big ... like Bill Cowher, Jon Gruden, John Fox, coaches of that caliber," Schefter said.
Obviously, as the names listed by Schefter indicate, there are plenty of big name coaches on the market.
But who appears to be the early favorite to be Phillips' successor in Dallas?
The NFL Network's Albert Breer said that, as of today, he thinks current Panthers head coach John Fox is the favorite.

it would have to be a yes man. And Cower isn't one of those.Talked to a friend a couple of years ago that was a very good friend of Dan Reeves. He told him after flying in and talking to JJ that there were probably only a handful of coaches that he could getalong with JJ and none of them would be on the top tier. He more or less said Jj almost wanted him to punch a clock and give all important decisions to either Steven Jones or himself. He couldn't wait for the next plane out.It owuld have to be a YES man judging by his last three coaches with the exception of Parcells who couldn't stand him.
