Buy ahead of time or buy week of??

Planning on going to Tampa in February right after the superbowl for Gasparilla Pirate festival, was wondering what some of you seasoned travelers suggest.

Its right after the superbowl so I wonder if that effects price as well?
I'm looking at 200 bucks roundtrip from Chicago to tampa or clearwater airport right now which isn't bad

look at allegiant air....cheap flights and chicago goes into clearwater. Maybe you can go down a week early and watch the

NFC NORTH CHAMPS - MN VIKINGS play in the superbowl.

also check USA3000 for cheap flights into tampa.

have used both, sometimes one way on one and back on the other.

I would much rather use a mainstream carrier (unless its something that you don't care to miss in case of bad weather etc.......a big airline has many planes that can be used while a small one doesn't have so much space to manouver in those situations)

if you are flying out of Ohare then United would work

go to kayak.com and check flights from ORD to TPA , you can also fly out of Midway (MDW is the airport code)

also check in farecompare what is the historical for those flights. if the current price is similar to the normal price then just pull the trigger
