I am on the bundle plan ( started about a year ago).

Cable, internet, and telephone for $99/month... came to about $120 the first few months, about $135 ever since.

Now they want $205 !

Any tips on calling them up to complain, get it reduced ?

I want to be prepared with knowledge of other deals available to me when I call. Any sites with good info ?

I guess I have to prepared to bluff, and say disconnect it ?

Direct TV is not an option, no dish on condo.

my folkes also had the same problem...their $99 bill shot up to $175 within 6 months.... they like to nickle and dime you on fees.

I have no solution...but suggest that if your contract is up w/ them try the old Cancel Account approach and see what they do....JMO

Doug...It sucks, you have a few options one is to go to the retention department and they may reduce it but again it is only for a short time. Were I live ATT now has u-verse which is cable not dish. I'm looking into it now not avliable every place yet but much much cheaper.

Best of luck it sucks!

I guess I'm going to have to raise the rate I charge my neighbor for tapping into it ? I have an unsecured router, and a cable wire passing through the wall into my neighbor's condo, as it is.

I Had A Choice When I Got My New PC

Didn't like Comcast for a lot of reasons. But I'm locked into them for my HD. But chose to stay w/Qwest for phone & internet. Glad I did. Comcast has a real monopoly, and there's nothing I can do as I can't use a dish either.

You are at Comcast's mercy when it comes to pricing. No doubt about it.

I kind of miss having their internet, it's super fast. Patiently waiting on FIOS.

We deal with comcast bill every single month. Call them and tell them you are gonna switch to dish network or something and they will cave in. Trust me they dont wanna lose any customers and will drop prices for you.

Been dealing with comcast for years, if you threaten to cancel they will offer you a better deal. It is usually on your calbe TV package, for example say you have "digital silver" or whatever package with a price of $109.99 they will give it to you for 6 or 12 months for like $59.99.

Definitely smart to call and try that, it really cant hurt.

I might be able to do some sort of a dish, if I mount it on my upstairs patio on some kind of a mast ( not the roof). I hear the association has to allow that ( but my source is not the best).

I spoke with ATT about it, will talk to them in greater detail. I want to have a lot of ammo, when I call Comcast, and get referred to customer retention dept.

I want the same $135 deal extended.

No other cable company exists here, but I could go down to basic/extended basic levels of TV.... give up the HBO and stuff, if it means cutting the bill in half.... and get another ISP ( even if it's a little slower).

Basically I want to extend the Comcast $135 deal, but not at $205.

This is a lot ( IMO) ! I can live with lesser TV options, like extended basic, but need internet and landline.

FUCK COMCAST !

How's their stock ?

Doug;6249123 Direct TV is not an option said:
once again i will tell you guys...there is no one that can stop you from having a dish installed...i am on the board of directors at our place and i have dish and all it took was one little visit to a meeting 10 years ago, that let them know i was getting a dish and also getting on the board...the loudmouth faeg president told me i was not and i showed him the law signed by president clinton and he shut his mouth and my dish was installed next day..

this has been said on this site many, many times...you don't want a dish don't get one....you want one? print this out and take to them...the law says you can have one,so don't think you have no option...

if you have a chimney you attach to that using a non corrosive strap...if you have a balcony, you simply attach it to a block of wood and strap it to balcony in order to keep from drilling holes,or you fill a 5 gallon bucket with cement and put pole in,then attach...directv and dish know what they need to do to get you going...they will also have you get a signed letter from your association allowing them to install

How about this math ?

Say you make $40,000 a year :

$205/month for Comcast

205 X12 = 2460

Over 6% of your income goes to Comcast !, WTF !
