NFL Pro Bowl to be moved up to week before Super Bowl starting in 2010

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the NFL has not announced the move, but Hawaii's governor and Honolulu's mayor both confirmed the situation later Monday.

Barring a schedule change, next season's Pro Bowl will take place Jan. 31, 2010, with the Super Bowl that year on Feb. 7. The league's plan is for players on the AFC and NFC championship squads not to take part in the Pro Bowl. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Probaly makes game even more worthelss to watch.


Said it for years (Like many others), would be better to just have a skills competetion weekend with fastest and strongest events and maybe throw in some QB, WR, etc, type events.

Yeah this does not one thing for me.

Is the nfl that stupid? Why the hell would they play this game a week before the superbowl? Do you think any guys playing in the superbowl will even play in this game then?

nobody wants to play in it anyway. they just want the prestige of being voted on the team. new format is perfect for players and the NFL knows it. its more of a reward/incentive to make the super bowl, so you dont have to come up with some lame ass excuse to get out of playing in it.
