Anyone into sports memorabilia?

On vacation last week I went to a friends house in Maryland and he was showing me his Game Used collection. Cools game used stuff, and I wondered if any of you guys get into that stuff.

Here are some of the cooler things he has.

Ronnie Lott & Jerry Rice Game used Jerseys

Lawrece Taylor Game Used Jersey

My Favorite Was Sean Taylor U of Miami Game Used jersey.

All kinds of bats, no-hitter baseballs. Cool stuff. Anybody collect this stuff?

I have some pretty cool Oakland Athletics items.

1973 World Series Bat of Sal Bando.
1972 World Series game used uniform of Sal Bando.
1973 Reggie Jackson game used uniform.
1973 Autographed Baseball
1973 Game used duffle bag.
1972 Blue Moon Odom game used warm-up jacket.
Many autographs on pictures and index cards.

Autographed Jack Nicklaus shirt and litograph framed
Autographed AJ Foyt framed picture with a piece of the old brickyard (bought it at the Indy 500)
Caddy shack movie poster autographed with all the main actors
Pete Rose baseball
Barry Bonds baseball

Plenty of others but I think game used is way more valuable.

I cant think of anything more pleasant then having a room in my house smelling like Lawrence Taylor's jock strap.....

I used to have a lot more than I do now. Mainly from sports card collecting.

Coolest things I have now are a Rams mini helmet signed by the Fearsome Foursome and a Steelers full size helmet signed by Blount, Lambert, Greene, Greenwood, Holmes, and White. Working on getting it signed by Russell, Ham, and Wagner.

- 1 used/broken condom from Shaq
- signed NCAA basketball from Chris Webber that he held when he called that non-existent timeout
- Pete Rose gambling tickets
- Lance Armstrong urine sample
- actual homemade footage of when Keith Hernandez spitting on Kramer and Newman

im planning on starting a collection centered around my favorite athlete, michael jordan.

will attempt to acquire every air jordan, there are 23 currently.

Started collecting back in 03 when I was laid off and had time on my hands to collect signatures. Of my most worthy stuff.

- Mariano Rivera on an MLB Baseball
- Frank Thomas on an MLB Baseball
- Barry Zito on an MLB Baseball
- Shaq's sig on the Lakers Sunday Whites
- Jason Richardson on a Warriors home jersey
- Gilbert Arenas on an NBA Bball
- Kobe on a 8 x 10

Have a ton of other signatures like Esteban Loiza, Antwon Jameson and some other 2nd level players.

GTC - I know the Jordan early model shoes go for big bucks. The Asian market is huge for these and drive the price up. They also love Ming, Kobe, and LeBron James.

it'll take time, but it's fun putting together a collection, one that isnt sport cards and typical crap like that.

i know the air jordan 23 that was sold at just 23 shops across the nation, went for 900 in an ebay auction earlier today.

people are like, why would you spend 250 dollars on shoes. then im like, why do you spend 250 dollars on a banana republic t-shirt.

at least these are a collectors item that will acquire value over time.

people laughed at those guys who were waiting outside the stores to spend 250 on those shoes. they got the last laugh in the end when they turned them around for 1k profit.

The bigger shows in the Chicago have on-premise authenticators. I prefer Steiner Sports items or PSA/DNA for nice items. Far easier to sell stars autos with PAS/DNA. http://www.psadna.com/experts.chtml
