The Help file (F1 button in Excel) is as good as any book you will find. Combined with MS Office Online you can search and find all you need.

All of the information you seek is online.

Just google search for "Excel training" or other such Search parameters and you'll quickly have numerous strong guides. Skim them and find one that reads best for you and then open the program and Practice, Practice, Practice the various calculations and ways to format cells or ranges of cells.

This would highly depend n what you want to achieve. If you are looking for simple calculations, formulas, etc... yes, you can teach it yourself via internet, ms online, help, etc...Now if you are looking to do some advance pivot table calculations with some additional functions via programming, then you need to hit some .NET and some C#. Once you learn how to program excel, anything is possible.

I think you’ll find that it offers a fast, enjoyable way to discover the ins and outs of Microsoft Excel programming. Even if you don’t have the foggiest idea of what programming is all about, this book can help you make Excel jump through hoops in no time (well, it will take some time).
Unlike most programming books, this one is written in plain English, and even normal people can understand it. Even better, it’s filled with information of the “just the facts, ma’am” variety — and not the drivel you might need once every third lifetime.

If you are using Excel 2000, XP, or 2003, this book is not for you. Excel 2007 is so different from previous versions. If you’re still using a pre-2007 version of Excel, locate a book that is specific to that version.
People who write books usually have a target reader in mind. For this book, my target reader is a conglomerate of dozens of Excel users I’ve met over the years (either in person or out in cyberspace).
TABLE OF CONTENT:
Chapter 01 - What Is VBA
Chapter 02 - Jumping Right In
Chapter 03 - Working In the Visual Basic Editor
Chapter 04 - Introducing the Excel Object Model
Chapter 05 - VBA Sub and Function Procedures
Chapter 06 - Using the Excel Macro Recorder
Chapter 07 - Essential VBA Language Elements
Chapter 08 - Working with Range Objects
Chapter 09 - Using VBA and Worksheet Functions
Chapter 10 - Controlling Program Flow and Making Decisions
Chapter 11 - Automatic Procedures and Events
Chapter 12 - Error-Handling Techniques
Chapter 13 - Bug Extermination Techniques
Chapter 14 - VBA Programming Examples
Chapter 15 - Simple Dialog Boxes
Chapter 16 - UserForm Basics
Chapter 17 - Using UserForm Controls
Chapter 18 - UserForm Techniques and Tricks
Chapter 19 - Accessing Your Macros Through the User Interface
Chapter 20 - Creating Worksheet Functions and Living to Tell about It
Chapter 21 - Creating Excel Add-Ins
Chapter 22 - Ten VBA Questions (And Answers)
Chapter 23 - (Almost) Ten Excel Resources
