for something like that I would say craigslist. You don't have to pay to post and sell it and it will be purchased by someone local, thus, no shipping.

You most likely will get more money for it on Ebay...BUT
It will cost you More to List it, and you will pay a High Commision

So you are better off on Craigs List.

Plus the weight of it, about 50lbs. would cost a lot to Ship.
Good to put down in your Listing, Local Pick-up available

its much better to sell it on CList...reasons

ebay charges listing fees and final sales fees and paypal takes their cut of roughly 4% all that adds up esp on high dollar items...

#2 ebay is basically based upon +feedback if your 1st item is a 1K+ tv people are naturally going to be weary if its a fraud listing etc....its much easier to start at 0feedback and sell something for $20 and get close to what your asking than something thats $1000...with 0 feedback you might not get anything close to what your asking for it...

like someone else said there is also the S&H when dealing with EBAY if the buyer is out of state etc...better off just posting on CL and waiting until something comes up it most likely will

I sell school books and gift cards on ebay all the time and love it, I never send the products and it works great.

If you haven't sold anything on craigslist before make sure you meet in person and take cash only. Many, many scams being run.

Why take a huge loss from selling it?

If you just bought this thing a month ago, why not take it back?

I assume you HAVE to have the receipt for a purchase this big. If not, they will likely be able to pull up a record of it if you paid by credit card (which is smart when buying something like this).

If you are going to tell me you paid cash and lost the receipt, and are sticking with only buying it a month ago... I am going to have to call bullshit. The only other option would be that youre a moron.

You pick.

And now I see in another thread that you bought this at Best Buy.

This is Best Buy's extended holiday return policy.
-------

Order now with confidence because if a gift doesn't quite work out, Best Buy offers an easy, no hassle return policy for the holidays.

January 24, 2009: Extended return deadline for qualifying gift purchases made between November 1 and December 24, 2008.

------------

I assume you bought it after November 1st. Go return it and save the hassle of ebay or CL.

...ESPECIALLY since you ordered the new one from Best Buy also. Even if they balked at the return, they would have at least given store credit and it could have been used toward the projector you liked more.
