Strong earthquake shakes Costa Rica

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica – A strong earthquake shook the Costa Rican capital of San Jose Thursday afternoon, sending frightened residents running into streets.
There were no reports of injuries in the minutes following the earthquake.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the 6.1 magnitude temblor struck 22 miles (35 kilometers) northwest of San Jose, at a depth of 28 miles (35 kilometers).
Canal 7 television showed images of broken windows, fallen ceiling panels and cracked walls. It said the quake was felt strongly throughout the small Central American country.

accrding to the news only some bulidings had damages ceiling tiles and windows broken rest was just ppl scared because of the intensity

Gave a reason for everyone to go home early...LOL

Shook a lot of people up in buildings here and caused a lot of damage..have not heard of any casualties...

Heard that the two girls who died were from Nicaragua...very sad...an earthquake in the middle of the afternoon is a bad time and many people will not forget...saw many women crying...

yea...crazy huh? Part of the Pacific Rim. I called my brother since they were talking about the earthquake in SoCal as part of the post game tonight.

There are 9 confirmed dead, government doesnt want to put out a number of dead yet as there are allegedly, people missing, for example in a small restaurant, where they are looking for around 9 people. Dozens of people stranded, amongst them many tourists as this is a very nice tourist area. The place is around 12 kms from my house, the area is beautiful, unfortunately this has hit them very very hard as there are alot of poor people up there.

This is pretty Bad, hate to see something like this happen.

Hope they find 'Alive" the ones that are Missing

Pictures and bad news put everything back in perspective...feel a little guilty joking about it yesterday...
