You Hear about The Good Stories, Now Here is One that is a Bad Story......................

TORONTO, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- A Toronto-area man who won $135,000 on four scratch-off lottery tickets has been told they were printing mistakes, and he won't be given the prizes.

Thomas Noftall, 27, told the Toronto Sun he scratched the four tickets on New Years's Eve and was ecstatic to see his winnings.
He contacted the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. in Toronto by telephone, and a claims representative said he would be paid, but that he had to come to the lottery headquarters, the Sun said.
That's when Noftall's luck turned sour.

"One guy pulled me into his office and said, 'Between me and you, they're going to void your tickets. They're not going to pay,'" Noftall told the newspaper.
A lottery spokesman told the Sun there were 1,000 misprinted tickets distributed throughout the province.
Noftall didn't disclose his intentions concerning the tickets.
"I've gone from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows in the past few days," he said.

So what happened to the other 996 misprinted tickets then ? Seems funny that nobody else has come forward with the same issue having thought they won as well...

I guess that beats my bad beat story with scratch offs... a previous company I worked for was running a little promo where the supervisors would hand out these scratch offs to employees when they saw good woork, good service, etc etc... everyone was scrathing off "paid day off" or $100 cash... turned out the printing company printed off too many of the "good" prizes and our company didnt honor any of them.... they ordered new ones and replaced however many you had... I went from 3 paid days off and 200 cash to 1 t shirt, coffee mug, and a new pen.

The OLG is a bunch of scammers, they have changed rule after rule to their "PROLINE" ( a parlay card of 3-6 games with "options" like a TIE in football is 3 pts and a win HAS to be by 4, tie pays more).

The tickets are all coded and need to be activated by the retailer and validated by a clerk for any winners. The OLG knows EXACTLY where the winners and losers are at.. up to the point of purchase. They can withdraw the faulty or "misprints" at any time and can have the computer validation state that the ticket is invalid and all would be fine. BUT NOT FOR THESE PRICKS, they will not honour any winners and take in all of the cash from the losers.

What would happen if the misprint was the other way around. The $1,000,000 had an error and it shows not a winner. Guess they dont pay that one either. Everyone should take every losing ticket to the headquarters and tell them they want to make sure there is no error and that their losing ticket might be a winner since it works the other way around.

Sounds like a pretty good lawsuit to me.

It's really not that big a deal. If he continues to play, he'll likely win the grand prize at least five or six times in just the next couple years

There have been recent incidents of retailers rippingoff customers when the clerk checks a ticket and says it is not a winner, it is a winner and the clerk claims the ticket for themselves.

The bullshit goes on and on at the OLG
