I see the two biggies are Quicken and Microsoft Money but have read they can be a bit clunky. I need something to keep track of the basics like expenses, mortgage and investments. Anyone use these, Mint or acemoney?

All of those programs suck compared to Quickbooks. Quickbooks is built with Businesses in mind, but there is nothing better for what you want to do.

I personally am terrible at keeping track of things, but I thought I'd mention that GnuCash serves as an free, open source, alternative to the others already mentioned.

I've heard good things about how easy it is to use...but I can't attest to any of it because spreadsheets work much nicer for me when I do have to keep track of things.

if you are using it for tracking expenses....stick with quicken....

QuickBooks is a much powerful tool but no need to complicate things for your needs.
