Newton, IA Rocky Marciano Killed In Plane Crash, Aug 1969

<!--paging_filter-->MARCIANO KILLED IN CRASH.
2 IOWANS ALSO DIE IN PLANE.
Newton -- Rocky Marciano, retired undefeated heavyweight champion, died Sunday night when a light plane crashed in a pasture near here. He would have been 46 today.
The retired knockout king was flying from Chicago to Des Moines, with two companions who also were killed when the plane plunged through a low overcast, struck a tree and smashed to earth on a farm near this central Iowa town.
Birthday Party.
Friends said he had been en route to a birthday party for his at a Des Moines steak house.

Two...the Souix City crash and the Buddy Holly crash...

One of the survivors lives here in Costa Rica and is an avid golfer..he was pulled out of the wreckage by a famous trainer of a Kentucky Derby winner who was on that plane...the trainer's name escapes me, but he saved him and his sister...

My bets crashed last night.. 0-2 that count. That's interesting that Rocky died here. I handled some calls about the USAIR crash today, reporting from Iowa.

-Jetplane

My trivia: What stupid queer-bait that went to the University of Iowa married a lady older than dirt and is rich as hell. Although, I think it's a smart move because she is pretty foxy dolled up still--and when she's gone he'll inherit everything and will get a new girl most likely. He's basically guaranteed 2 life-time poon.

Is this the answer?
