Going the weekend of the NFL Draft (April 24-26).

Any suggestions on where I should stay? It's gotta be on the strip and HAS to have a sports book (but you guys already knew that).

The Rx Bash was at Planet Hollywood a couple of years ago, and is right in the middle of the strip. I recommend them.

$300 will get you about any hotel you want.

You could probably get a great one for $100

Personally, I wouldn't spend much on a room, because you won't be in it long.

Mirage is nice, great pool, and location.

$300 is really high....anyplace you want, for that.

$300 a night, or for the weekend ( 2 days ?).

Either way, anything but Wynn/Encore should work.

$300 a night.

I got 2 people coming with me, so I feel that $75-100 a piece per night for a few college kids is reasonable. I really don't care too much about the rooms, but more about the sports books / odds available at the casino seeing how I'll be there for 7-10 hours a day betting on the Draft, NHL playoffs, and MLB.

Blue,

With the way Vegas is right now, 100 a nite for a nice hotel will be no problem. I'm getting offers daily to come up and stay for rates cheaper than that. The Mirage would probably work for you and the pool will be up and running by then.

I like the Mirage. Stayed in a Tower Suite in September for $154 a night. Nice room at about 1200 square feet. Check out smartervegas.com. They have codes for the hotels which will give you cheaper rates when you book from the hotel's website.

Thanks for the link Moneyneversleeps. Lots of good deals on that website. Now only if I can get Ding! working on my CPU...

So, price not being a factor, what is the best sports book on the strip?

Looking like heading to Vegas in June for a stag-do and wedding so any ideas would be great.

I think only a small few of the party will have any betting experience or knowledge - though this does include the groom - but I figured I would try and find some other stuff to do that would keep everyone happy when they are not at the tables...

Easily can get a room nearly anywhere for less than $300/night, Las Vegas is struggling. GL.

Someone told me that you cannot bet on the NFL Draft itself in Vegas. Is this true? If so, kind of a buzzkill seeing how that was the main reason I was going there (although I could bet online for the draft, and the NHL / MLB at Vegas).

Las Vegas Hilton Race and Sports SuperBook Review
The Las Vegas Hilton Superbook definitely lives up to its name. It's one of the largest race and sports book in town, offering something for every gambler.

The Superbook encompasses 30,000 square feet and offers more than 300 seats. There are 60 viewing monitors, including 28 large screens and one mammoth 15' x 20' screen showing all of the biggest games and races.

The sports book area offers dozens of bets on everything from the Rugby World Cup to tennis and soccer. The Superbook is also the place to go if you want interesting proposition bets. The book recently offered more than 300 propositions on the Super Bowl alone.

Gamblers are kept up-to-date on the latest scores and sports news by a 75-foot sports ticker running across the room.

The race area of the Superbook is a bettors dream. There are individual LED TVs at every seat and dozens of big screens to watch races from across the country.

For the high rollers, there is a VIP section with plush leather armchairs, four 15-inch LCD screens and one bigscreen TV.

The Hilton's Superbook is also one of the most convenient in town with special parking right outside the door and an entrance off Joe W. Brown Drive behind the hotel.

For those searching for refreshments after a long day of betting, the Eighth Pole Bar located next to the Superbook offers not only drinks, but five TVs and two larger flat screens so you don't miss a minute of the action. The Superbook Super Snack Bar, which also borders the sports book, offers sandwiches, salads, snacks and breakfast food.
