Me and a friend are discussing what kind of lines CC will get this year for the Yanks. He thinks we could possibly see up to -500 (vs. KC, Wash, or Sea), but I say no way.

Last year was our first year gambling baseball though so we really are just shooting the shit. Any chance the line(s) get that high? Anybody know what the record is?

I definitely remember the Yankees being around -420 a couple of years ago against KC.

-420 sounds about right, maybe a little higher (-440, -460 max). No way CC gets that kind of juice.

Don't think so. Past few years' highest Yankees lines:

Yankees 2008: -301 vs KC (w)
Yankees 2007: -316 vs TB (L) / -303 vs SEA (w) / -300 vs TB (L) / -300 vs KC (w)
Yankees 2006: -370 vs KC (L) / -365 vs KC (w) / -359 vs KC (w) / -335 vs KC (w)

Just goes to show ya. A few good bankroll burners in there. -370 L! Yikes!

I remember Johan Santana and the Twins being -420 against the Nats a couple years ago. The Twins lost btw.

When Pedro & Maddux were in their prime the opponents were +300 to +340 constantly.

No chance. He will not top the huge lines that were out there when Randy Johnson was pitching for New York.

According to my records, from 1996-2006 there were only seven games with odds higher than -400. I believe all seven involved Randy Johnson or Pedro Martinez. The highest I could find was -480 for Boston (and Martinez) in this game:

I was just about to say, and you beat me to it, I do remember in 98-00 randy pitched a few that Hit Mid 440s

also in 97 I remember ATL with Glavine I think hit 400,,
(I may be off here)

and the joke I beleive the TOTALS were with randy at 4-5 lolol wtfk??

did they even have a first half total then on that game?

I believe Johan 2 years in late August early Sept. was -450 vs KC Royals.

Royals had all call ups from minors. Twins won 5-4

I've seen -410 several times, I think after a certain point most books just take the game down, or offer r/l's only.
My old local would take the game off the board if it reached -400 +

A's minus 2.5 runs in games two & three vs Dodgers. Local refused to give out ML, and he still couldn't get Dodger action
