Looking to upgrade from an older CRT monitor to an LCD. I see 5 ms response times, 21.6"-24", etc

EG, this Samsung's has
FEATURES:
  • 23" Display with 16:9 Aspect Ratio
  • 2048 x 1152 Resolution (Supports Full HD Resolution)
  • 20,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio
  • 5ms response time for clear fast on-screen movement.
  • Magic Colour Engine generates rich and vivid image automatically.
  • Saves up to 40% more energy compared to normal monitors.
  • Analog RGB and DVI inputs.
It seems to me aspect ratio, brightness, contrast ratio and max resolution and response speed are important. What are good minimum requirements I should be looking for? I want to spend no more than $200-$300 maximum.

IMO, almost any monitor you can buy will satisfy your needs....i'd just go for size and price....everything else middle of the pack should be good to go

I was in the same boat as you a while back, bought the Samsung syncmaster220wm; couldn't be happier. I believe I paid around 300
