Feel your pain. Found a +9.5 late so I grabbed it. Not looking good.

There was a stretch a few weeks back where these were comig in like crzy but it seems like they have been on a mission since then.

I got +9 and I'm ready to turn the game off.

I'm watching the game off of my DVR a bit delayed so
I don't have to watch commercials... but Dirk
yet to hit a shot in the game, 0-7.

At 37-9 on the season the Celtics have an identical record as they did after 46 games last year when they went 66-16. They have some tough games coming up:

At Detroit Friday Jan 30th.
Vs Lakers Feb 5th (Friday night on TNT)
Vs Spurs Feb 8th (Sunday afternoon Natl TV)

Plus some easier games also in the next two weeks:
At home vs Sacremento on Jan 28th.
At home vs Minnesota on Feb 1st
At Philly on Feb 3rd
At New York on Feb 6th

They are currently on an 8 game winning streak and while it is a longshot but if they can sweep these seven games you have to give them some credit for being right there at the top of the league with the Lakers and Cavs (Magic just a slight bit below the top three of late - having lost 2 straight, one a 90-80 loss at home against the Celtics ).

They five games wraped around the All Star break out west in mid February also but no Lakers or Spurs.

PS: Nice call on the Terry three ball over bet Harry Carry.

You picked a bad time to start playing against them. THey are playing damn good ball right now.

Who says I just started?

Just the last 3 times I bet against them they killed it. Had Phoenix, Orlando ML, and Mavs today.

I have won going against them this year too...

True the Sixers had a very good January especially for a team 14 games back in their Division.

Lets see how they do tomorrow night at New Orleans, if they can win there I give them a better shot to win in Philadelphia next week against Boston.

The wins at Atlanta and against San Antonio got a lot of attention around the league..

The hot streak has them at 21-21 on the season and heading for the playoffs.

The thing about Boston (and the Lakers to) is every game they play is a huge game for their opponet, especially on the road. Knocking off the defending champs or the very high profile and Kobe led Lakers can give a team like Philly a big boost for the team itself and even moreso for their fanbase. This is nothing new of course, forever everyone in just about every sport has loved to beat the current champs.

Today the Celtics shot 65 percent in the first half, and their 74 first-half points were a season high for them and the most allowed in any half by the Mavericks this season.

Boston dominated even more than the 124-100 final indicated. They led by 15 after one quarter by 12 with 9:10 left in the second before scoring 15 straight points—and 21 of 26—to take a 74-47 lead at the half, essentially making the entire 2nd half garbage time. Boston hit the 100 point mark with 50 seconds left in the third quarter.

Hats off to KG and Ray Allen, Dallas had beaten the Celtics in 13 out of 14 before Garnett and Allen joined Pierce in Boston before last season, and now the Mavericks have lost three in a row to the Celtics.

Rajon Rondo did a number on Jason Kidd today holding him to 6 points and 5 assists with no steals, Rondo had 13 points and a whopping 14 assists with 4 steals. Both men had 7 boards.

I did say it was a longshot that Boston would win all seven. They play 3 games in 4 days shortly after the Super Bowl -- Lakers and Knicks (road) on Thurs and Friday nights back to back and the Spurs a day later in a Sunday game with 1PM start. All teams have similar schedules of course.

Since a 2-7 slump that was the worst of the new Big Three era, the defending NBA champions have won eight in a row by an average of 16.2 points—almost two points a game better than their margin of victory in the franchise-record 19-game winning streak earlier this season. Today's win was their sixth straight double-digit victory.

my bad. just meant they have looked like a different team in the last few games compared to earlier in the year. Still the team to beat imo.

Brand is out for the year

That does hurt a lot, same as the Majic losing Jameer Nelson for 12 weeks. Key players like that are just about impossible to replace.

Kevin Garnett didn't make the trip to Philly but luckily he was only out two games with a bad case of flu.

The Celtics lost by a point to the Lakers in OT last Thursday. The league just announced they are fining Boston HC Doc Rivers $15,000 for remarks he made after the Laker game to the officiating crew. That game like the Philly game was very hotly contested.

Today the Spurs are at Boston in what should be another big test for the Celts.

Followed by Lakers at Cavs...A game where I have to root for the Lakers due to the tooth and nail battle for the #1 seed in the East come playoff time.
