Right after the Cards beat the Panthers, I booked 2 Motel 6's for Super Bowl weekend. Any help on which one I should stay at will be much appreciated.

A Motel 6 is a Motel 6. Im more concerned about location. I would like to stay in the one that has more things going on around it within walking distance. For example, restaurants, bars, etc. One is only $89 per night, the other is $99 a night. So cost is not a factor. I know the Fairgrounds location has the Hard Rock Casino about 2 miles away. Other than that, I know nothing.

Choice one is 11 miles from RJS:
Fairgrounds Motel 6
6510 US 301
Tampa, FL 33610

Choice two is 8 miles from RJS:
333 E. Fowler Ave.
Tampa, FL 33612

Thanks again to all from Tampa.

There's a WingHouse near the Fairgrounds Motel 6, but not much else. You're a very short cab ride from Brandon, the giant mass of suburbia that I live on the other side of. There are a ton of restaurants there in addition to a large mall. One or two decent sportsbars in the area, though not much of a "club" scene.

The Fowler location is up by USF, but I'm not sure what's up that way. One would guess there would be more bars, as it is near a major university, but I can't vouch for that.

As for ease of either to RJS, it's probably a push.

The Fowler location much better for associated food/drink etc since as BB mentions, it's right on the USF campus.

And you're within short ride from Tampa's greatest live music venue - Skippers Smokehouse

Friday night, Jan 30 features one of the hottest young bluesman in Florida - The Damon Fowler Group

Here's a very early video of him from Orlando in 2000 (he's the guy in the back)

Saturday night features Chris McCarty Band which is also blues based, but a bit more eclectic.....aka 'electric soul'

We're more likely to hit Friday...though not until about 10:30

Thanks Barman. My plane gets in at 4pm Saturday. Wanted to leave Friday, but couldnt because of work obligations.

My buddy from NYC is flying in later that night and wont get in until about 10pm.

Was looking for something to do unitl he gets in. Was gonna do the Fairgrounds location and hang out at the Hard Rock, but I hear that might be a zoo. This definitely looks like a possibility.

Lets play this by ear...

Not sure why in the f I cannot get my posts to go through on this thread. If you are just arriving the night before the game, imo you would be better off going to the Fowler Avenue location. Not the greatest of locations, it is a safe area and you are right next to I-275 about ten minutes from the stadium (non game day).
