What is the most beautiful state to live in?

Depends on what you define as beautiful.

To me it would be lots of green (not Nevada), wooded areas, clean clear air, temperatures in the 60's most of the year, throw in some intangiables like little traffic, nice people.

Seems like the east coast and the northwest United States are mentioned everytime I read about this. Curious what people here think. I havent been to many places so I am interested in what others say.

Let me say againt this is not the best not best state to live but beautiful.

Like I said this also has too be how you define beautiful, some may say Nevada cause beauty to them is being able to legally bet on sports, LOL.

Please tell what makes your state choice beautiful. (I think this may the most times I have ever said the word beautiful in less then 5 minutes, starting too sound a little flaky, LOL).

Ice I live in the NW currently.

An officers brat growing up and I lived every where,including France.

I like it here but wonder how my kids can stand it,but when I mention moving back to Ca. they kick and scream they won't have any of it.

But the winters are dreary,but for what you and I do it's an excuse to stay in doors and wager and watch.

It is Green though as when i visit Ca. now it seems so dry and like flick a match and will go up in flames.

I enjoy the changing of the leaves, the cool Autumn mornings, etc..........that is why I said New England. Nothing better than driving to get some coffee about 9AM on a cool crisp autumn morning, and getting ready to bet some football in a few hours!

California most green state by far, nicest people by far, you want 60's year round look at the Central coast.

nity weather/seasonal deadly affliction, but the fact is, Seattle today had its second public suicide take place in the last week.

A man set himself on fire last week in Red Square at the University of Washington -- in front of hundreds of lunch-time strolling UW students. The 61-year-old former UW employee later died at Harborview Medical Center.
Today, a man jumped to his death from the Aurora Bridge, landing in a parking lot below & later dying.
This suicide comes two weeks after officials held a meeting about the long-debated issue of whether a fence should be attached to the Aurora Bridge. Others have long suggested that the footpath across the high span be closed to pedestrians.
With its scenic perch 155 feet above the Lake Union cut, the Aurora Bridge is the second-most infamous suicide bridge in the U.S., after the Golden Gate.
The fact that Seattle turned a darker, colder place this past weekend, courtesy of Daylight Savings Time, only adds to the city's chilly sense of wintry forboding. Nationally, reports have it that more than 750,000 people attempt suicide every year.
But there is something particularly alarming about the way Seattle ranks among suicidal cities. Here are some stats from King County on suicide, the main cause of injury for King County residents.

been to about 25 states, Idaho is the one I liked the best (went during spring-fall), I am sure their winters are nasty but IF I had internet/beer/tv and a fireplace....I could probably survive :lolBIG:

The Florida panhandle west of Pensacola over to Gulf Shores Alabama is a beautiful area but unfortunately also hurricane country. The white sandy beaches on the Gulf of Mexico are great. I am sure the same can be said about the west coast of Florida from Ft Walton Beach all the way south to Naples and even further south also but I have never lived there.

That is Fishhead territory.
