So I changed the words under my user name to Texastico last week since I'm headed to Costa Rica soon. I have never used this moniker before in my life. Then I post about 20 times in a Youtube thread on here. So just now I opened my email account that is associated with this site (I have several), and I have a msg from Youtube that is asking me (they referred to me as Texastico even though that is not my Youtube name) if I would like to change my password. What's going on here? The common denominator between Youtube, me, and Texastico only exists on this site!

Is someone trying to get into my account? What do you guys think?

But it was addressed to Texastico which I have never uttered or typed anywhere but here in my life. My Youtube login name is totally different.

I can assure with 100% certainty that there is no relationship between The Rx.com and You Tube. Google (Yahoo also) does interrigate our exposed information with slurp spiders often and may have picked up the information that way and passed it along to You Tube (who they own). However they only can see what any common person can see by searching old threads.

FYI - what is a spider or web crawler (same thing)

A Web crawler (also known as a Web spider, Web robot, or—especially in the FOAF community—Web scutter is a program or automated script that browses the World Wide Web in a methodical, automated manner. Other less frequently used names for Web crawlers are ants, automatic indexers, bots, and worms.

This process is called Web crawling or spidering. Many sites, in particular search engines, use spidering as a means of providing up-to-date data. Web crawlers are mainly used to create a copy of all the visited pages for later processing by a search engine that will index the downloaded pages to provide fast searches. Crawlers can also be used for automating maintenance tasks on a Web site, such as checking links or validating HTML code. Also, crawlers can be used to gather specific types of information from Web pages, such as harvesting e-mail addresses (usually for spam).

A Web crawler is one type of bot, or software agent. In general, it starts with a list of URLs to visit, called the seeds. As the crawler visits these URLs, it identifies all the hyperlinks in the page and adds them to the list of URLs to visit, called the crawl frontier. URLs from the frontier are recursively visited according to a set of policies.

Sounds like a good explanation. At least you understand why I asked. Thanks

to me it sounds like somebody is trying to get your password in hopes that you use it for other sites also. obviously you shouldn't respond but it sounds very shady to me.
