Is it Scott Boras?

The Red Sox offer is fair.
5 million guaranteed for next year, plus a 5 or 3 mil option for 2010.

Now he's considering quitting because the contract isn't to his liking?
What's not to like?
No other team is expressing interest, he's going to be 37, his catching skills have dimminshed, hit .220, with a miserable .313 OBA last season, and is considered an automatic out.

I hope he doesnt accept it and ends up getting a backup role somewhere. the sox are overpaying at 5m

He was lucky to get any offer.

I don't care how good he "manages the staff" when you are an automatic out for most of the season you are lucky to get another contract offer.
