Why the hostility toward posters who later want to charge $$ for picks?

I was following randizzle awhile back (I never made $$ but that's a long, long story). At one point, someone accused him of wanting to charge for picks later. There was a huge confusion and misunderstanding.

But why the hostility in the first place? If a guy is making you $$, shouldn't he get rewarded? If I had a financial advisor picking stocks, I'd pay him. Why is different for sports picks?

Because nobody knows the outcome of a game, and if someone does happen to have inside info then they would have to be an idiot to sell their picks for chump change when they could be using it to make millions. Chances are if somebody is selling picks they arent really selling winners they are selling hope, and those who prey on the hopeless need to get their teeth kicked in.

Most people that sell picks for money aren't doing it because they are winning money on the games... Anyone can go on runs but it doesn't necessarily make them a great handicapper.
