For those that know?

Best value room for the money question?

Going to Vegas in mid-March --- I'll have a car and be all over town --- a business/pleasure trip.

I'm strictly a sports / poker player ----- important! easy in and out of sports book, non-smoking poker room would be nice.

Location to strip -- not that important --- my experience most places are a short drive.

Last visit -- Hooters worked well --- any suggestions ?

Yes a safe place counts ---- not looking for a "No-tell motel".

I was just there at Bellagio and the room sucked at 199 per night. My buddy got a suite with couch area and two plasmas at the Venetian for 119 per night. So check out the Venetian. The location is perfect for spoorts books.

If you have a car, stay at HARD ROCK.

you can drive anywhere, its the best hotel, and right accross the street there is a drug store to get everything you need.

best hotel in Vegas

Personally, I play at the LV Hilton sportsbook. If you stay there, tell them to give you a newer room. They have many that have been renovated. Should be less than $100, around $80, I think.

Also, do you have a limit of what you are looking to spend?

I'm surprised you have to pay for a room at all. I would check around. I know several people that went to vegas in Jan and paid nothing, and they were not rated players.

Didn't want to say that, but that was the single worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my life and that includes some Motel 6s on the interstate.

Checked in and 5 later told them I had emergency and had to leave.

MGM has a great sportsbook and a great poker room.....their rooms are going for a great price but the casino is HUGE....takes 3 hours to walk from one end to the other.....

if you are in the right tower and valet, then this can be your best bet.

Downtown is another good one....lots of sportsbooks and lots of poker rooms....

Bally's poker room seems to be active whenever I go there but for the life of me I cannot remember if they have a sportsbook or where it would be.

Hard Rock is probably another best bet...esp since you have a car.

I like the Rio hotel (rooms and distance to car...valet and self park), but not too sure about the quality of sportsbook or poker room

bellagio/wynn/venetian/CP are all great for the sportsbooks/pokerroom but you might pay a little more for the hotel and pokerroom caters to higher rollers....i think I'd be a bit over my head there....not sure about you....most are pretty big too.

For the value, I would suggest Orleans. Never played poker there, but I understand it is okay. The sports book (for placing wagers, not viewing) is better than most strip places. The rooms are not fancy, but nice enuf.

Bills

For the money, I love Bills. The rooms are very underated in my opinion. Each room is nicely appointed with 42 inch plasmas. Rooms are much nicer than the standard rooms at the Flamingo next door and they are usually cheaper. Plus you can use the pool at the Flamingo if you flash your Bills room key. The book at Bills is small, but is usually not that crowded. Thats why I like it.

I was also very disappointed with the hooters hotel

would not recommend it unless it was free

none of the strip mega resorts are going to be ez in ez out. Long valet waits or very long walks. any off strip will be ez in/out and you would get more room for your $.

best value for a room i have had was at bally's, you can get them mid week for $50 by booking on their website.
