Grandma has been in nursing home covered by medicaid all of 2008. Grandma receives $1,140 a month Social Security. Nursing home takes $1,100 of the $1,140. Medicaid covers the rest of the costs. Grandma also receives $350 monthly pension. I don't think nursing home knows about this income. Would Grandma have to also give her pension income to nursing home if they knew about it?
