I keep seeing threads about large TV's like 45", 50", or larger. I have read a lot about plasma vs LCD comparisons but I don't care because I live in a condo with dimensions that don't really work with large TV's in that range, but still, I wouldn't ignore any superdeal of a 45" LCD or such.

Few months ago, I began to wonder the pros and cons about one large TV or 2-4 smaller TV's, especially with me having a wife who loves TV & a 6-year-old girl who loves Disney/NICK channels.

I'm NOT in the market now for any changes, but still want to post this concept & see what people say about advantages and disadvantages. The idea reminds me of bars with multiple screens on one large wall or in the movie "Back to the Future II" (I think) where Marty's son asks the wall for several channels on a wall, heh.

Tell me this info:

a.) Pros/cons of *one* 50" LCD/Plasma with seating about 8 feet away; on a center part of a drywall wall using a studfinder

b.) Pros/cons of *four* 26" LCD's with seating about 8 feet away; shaped like a 4-square with about a couple of inches separate from each LCD; with the center point between the LCD's both horizontally and vertically.

Price-wise, seems like even... but with cable service seems best with this multiple-LCD configuration because can use splitter without using cable box (in my case, I have Comcast cable box but it's only needed for "digital" channels over channel 99 to 200's; we use the first 99 channels most of the time anyway).

I just am not a handyman so I imagine the big con is having it set up by someone who can help me (after all, I doubt Comcast tech person would appreciate this configuration?).

Thoughts? Just mainly curious.

Sorry, IndiansK6. I should have mentioned that both my wife and I are deaf. Big advantage there, eh? My step-daughter could have a TV on with sound on, while the others are muted with captions displaying.
