Not me. I don't think it took a rocket scientist to know he hasn't got that big by just eating egg whites, and doing curls. You just don't get that big without cheating. I have worked out for years, and the only time I had noticeable changes is when I messed with the sauce. I will admit that I have done a few cycles of steroids in my days, so I know just how easy it is to get big. For the rest of my life it didn't matter how hard I worked out, and how strict I was with my diet. I know all the tricks, but never was able to put on A-Rod like size until I stuck myself.

With that said A-Rod is pretty much fucked. He didn't even use HGH, so he can't use the free pass excuse "I did it to heal my injury." Plain and simple he cheated. I am not surprised, but nor do I care. Anyone who has played the game knows exactly how difficult it is to hit the ball. No muscles in the world are going to help you hit a curve ball. This should be an interesting week hearing about this

As a Seattle Mariners fan, I can say that I remember when he came up in '95 and he was all of 180 lbs soaking wet. And now he's a beast. I agree, I'm not at all surprised. And honestly, I don't feel sorry for him. He's been the epitome of the word "cancer" to every team that he's played on in his career.

To me, it seems like the media is always on his case, just for other (and less serious) reasons. I think because of the steroids issue now however, he's about to catch more shit than Bonds. The New York media is about to eat him alive.

It's possible to get that big by working out hard. I've dropped like 20 pounds of fat and put on 10 pounds of muscle in a little over a month with exercising 6 days a week and using some BSN products to give me energy and protein. Genetics are different for some people...

But yeah, he likely did roids.

No way you can get that size without cheating. I have genetics and can put size on rather quickly, but once I reach that certain size I just plateau. it always happens . the only times I was able to get about 210lb is when i sauced, and then I was up to about 222lb. there is no possible way you can look like A-Rod does without cheating, and it was obvious he did

100% agree. Bonds won 3 MVP's before anyone ever accused him of anything. Bonds is one of the greatest of all time...enhanced or not

This just proves that everyone is a suspect. Hearing shit like this just makes me appreciate Frank Thomas so much more. I am from Chicago and never really liked the "big skirt" but i respect how he played the game clean.

For a professional athlete using drugs, Rodriguez is pretty skinny. If someone can only gain 12 pounds from using steroids I have to wonder if they were reading the instructions

The reason why it shouldn't be suprising he used drugs is that he was a professional athlete who was not subject to drug testing for the first nine years of his career (and even the test in the 10th year was only used to gather information, not to catch people using banned drugs)

If the Olympics stopped testing and punishing athletes for using drugs would anyone be suprised if the sprinters and weightlifters used them?

Maybe he has a higher ceilling than you (better genetics and can gain that much weight only by working out, come on look at every professional athlete when they start up and then look at them when they finish. For instance just look at Tony Winn he was skinnier than Arod and Finished fatter than CC Sabathia the difference is he didnt excercise enough or just didnt have the metabolism. Im not saying Arod did it or not (id like to see some backing up of the story) but if he did it or not 2003 isnt that different of any of his other years stat wise and he has continued to produce the same numbers after drug testing has become stricter, so i dont think his size is any argument of him doing drugs for 12 years since he joined the league.

ive never messed around with anything actually but like homedawg said ive played baseball up until a year ago when my shoulder was just a mess and i knew it was going to be parlayed into anything real but i dont care how strong and buff you look it wont help out hitting a curveball, hitting's all mental and fundamentals.

Besides this just further proves that just about everyone in the last 15 years was on it so what does it matter and reminder its not just the hitters

What exactly is A-Rod guilty of

Because a sports writer from SI, said it's true, I guess it's true.
Where is the concrete evidence, for all I know this may be a SI guy with an agenda.
Until it's proven, he's done nothing wrong.

i agree. it's a shame these reporters can run around ruining people's lives without presenting cold hard facts. I keep hearing "allegedly". Give me a break, you don't ruin someone's care on some "alleged" information. This guy should be fired.

i do have to add that one thing is certain with steroids. the strength you put on is ridiculous. I literally added 75klbs to my bench press, going from 250 - 325. Strength does have an impact on hitting the ball. If your a mlb hitter, batting is a science and you know how to transfer strength into power. I am not arguing their is no advantage given there.

baseball is and always be tainted for the guys involved with steroids in the media. fans of baseball that are aged 20-25 like myself: the big time home run hitters were juicing and cheating, period.

baseball purists need to stop being naive and face FACTS. im not saying a-rod should get the death penalty, but he is nothing more than a cheat. unfortunately stuff like this just reinforces my hatred for the boring and overplayed game

i am not surprised about rodriguez...mlb allowed this to go on...and it really infected the league...

what i am surprised about is that 'SI' did not 'rat' the other 100+ names on that list...

i appreciate people that report the news...but c'mon now...

sports illustrated had to have been sitting on this for a very long time...they wait for the superbowl to end...and then go with it the weekend before pitchers & catchers report...they had an agenda...and they constructed a gameplan to take everyone'e attention off of the upcoming season...and back to the 'steroid-era'...

they should have released all of the names...not just his.

i am sick and tired of this steroid shit...just wish they would play ball and write stories about the games themselves,...

but that just does not sell.

Why release them all at once? Then what story can they drop after this one loses it's legs? I am sure we will be hearing much more from SI whether we want to or not

i agree...

they had to hold 'em all for 'marketing' purposes...and went with the 'big fish' 1st...

they can release one per week...and sell more that way...

i am just tired of the 'steroid era'
