To be honest, I've never used a Chase system, but I am curious to hear opinions on something from those that do or have followed someone that has.
First, some don't even know what it is, and just to make them aware, a chase system begins when a bettor wagers on 1 play, and if it does not win, they move on to the next play and increase their wager size, and so on until they win and/or profit. Some use different styles, and I cannot say which are more successful, if any, long term.
Anyhow, my question pertains to the types of plays a player uses when following this system.
I've noticed that most use sides when using their chase system.
If one side loses and the bettor moves on to the 2nd play, the third play, and so on, considering they are sides, it seems as if you are still basically getting approximately 50-50 odds on the next play hitting, despite the small advantage you get with handicapping the games.
Would it be more of an advantage to use totals, and begin with an under or over, then if it loses, move on to the 2nd play, and so on, while continuing to stick with the under or over, knowing that 1 of the games are more than likely to finish that way? Just seems to me that it would boost our % of hitting the 2nd play or so on compared to a side.
