hno: i just asked if anyone from any state in the US could open a checking account and she said yes but you would have no local branches around you in ohio so it would be interent banking only. I guess i could send them a check? when i did call it said they were experiencing high call volumes @)

I have seen this bank popping up locally, never really checked them out, not even sure where the closest one is.... I'll just sorta plan to open an account before the deadline, but the wife will do it first, make a special trip to do it, etc.

IMO, you wouldn't be a criminal for doing it...just way too much trouble to do this for $100...unless you can do it 100 times over ?
I'd be happy to pull this 2-3 X, locally, and feel like a lowlife doing it....

I haven't even looked up the nearest one, but did see one less than 20 miles away, if it comes, if not, no biggie....
It's nothing I'd go too far out of the way, to get...akin to a Denny's breakfast, but better.
Using the card six times would be nothing, that's cake.

Washington Mutual, (soon to be Chase), did the same thing here in Vegas last month. They sent out fliers announcing it by mail. Deposit $100, you are able to immediately withdraw all but $1, and still get credit for $100 within 4 weeks. Being the cheap fuck I am I did it.
