Overpaid incompetent shitheads. Ran billion dollar companies into the ground. But when you pay off both poltical parties, your company not only gets bailed out but you get to keep your job. How sick is that?

WTF??!! That is disgusting to say the least. This is probably a stupid question, but wtf is 'total compensation'? Is it bonuses? While these companies were tanking?

Stock options are likely the biggest part of the compensation package, but total compensation includes all benefits like company cars and planes and health care, for example.

Those are unreal numbers. You only get those jobs by knowing the absolute rightest of the right people.

My co. has a few billion in assets (weak compared to those companies), and I would guess my CEO made less than 750K in '08.

Yeah, so let's shovel another $700B their way. I'm sure guys that can figure out how to pull 8 figure compensations won't be smart enough to get a big chunk of this lucre. After all, O says they can only have 500K per year. That'll do it. Public money now safe.
