Time to think about betting some futures if you haven't already done so.
I think N. Carolina and U Conn are almost a lock for # 1 seeds and although I'm not that high on Oklahoma, their schedule tells me they look like a pretty fair bet. However I don't see Duke getting a number 1 or at least they don't deserve a # 1. So who will get the other # 1 ? Any thoughts ? I kinda like Pitt

Conn, UNC, OK and Pitt look like real solid bets for the #1's.

What do you think is fair value on the likely #1 seeds Kermit?

AS of right now all I have is a small piece of UCLA at 29-1.

Tough question but I will give it some thought. First off I have to figure whether or not the team I choose actually has a chance to get to the sweet 16 and then on to the final 4. To try and correctly predict all 4 final 4 contestants is silly as it's not likely to happen. The tournament schedule is simply too tough for all 4 to make it. However since the # 1 seeds have a very easy road to get to the sweet 16 and a pretty decent shot to get to the elite 8, it's fair to assume that if you choose well, your teams will be around for awhile. Of course there usually are no pushovers after that.
I bought N. Carolina before the season started at 4/1 as I thought then they were a notch above all the rest and would become a number 1 seed and that they would be one of the # 1's that would make it to the final 4. So far so good. I also bought some UCLA just a few days ago at 25/1. The team that is worrying me a little bit now is U. conn as their big guy just seems to be getting better every game. I bought some 7/1 on them for the same reason as North Carolina. I think those two teams are the best bets to make the final 4 with Pitt also a strong choice. Will all 3 of them make it ? I doubt it. Pretty wide open except for N. Carolina.
I will go shopping this weekend here in Vegas looking to get some good multiples on any of the real strong teams or sleepers.
Ok to answer your question. Except for the 2 teams I mentioned, I would not get too interested in anything less than 10/1 and I would love to get some longshot sleepers in there also. Most ncaa championship teams play solid D and have good guard play.

UNC, UCONN, PITT,OKLA should be #1, but if UC or PITT win both games, one will drop and UCLA will slide in if they keep it up. Not to mention it will make the West bracket much easier for the Comittee

UNC/OK/Pitt or UCONN and maybe UCLA if they win out (tonight will be a VERY tough win, not sure they get it done).

UNC and OK should win out. UNC because they are simply the best, and OK because there isn't another good team in the Big 12. They might lose one road game though. Pitt or uconn, i really think only one gets a #1 seed if UCLA can win out. If the Bruins don't than they can both get one. I think Pitt is the better team of the two, but I'm pretty sure they play @ UConn this year, so will be tough to win there.

Now I feel much more confident that Pitt will be a number 1 seed. UNC, Pitt, U Conn and Okl. are my picks.
