In which areas do you generate most profits?

DO you scalp, middle, bet, inplay. When you break it down where is all
your profit come from mainly?

I like to bet game lines straight up but this seems to be a thing of the
past. I know one Pro all he does is bet middles. Thats it. Even if it is
a three point middle on a basketball total. Others just back both sides
so they can't lose. What is best?

I want to get into player props on NBA but not too
many bookies are keen to offer them

In-game and second halves.

Over the years I have made the most money on futures. It is a little tougher now since it isn't as easy to move money but if you shop around you can still find great value. I check the future odds almost every day at my books.

Both. I play totals, lots of team totals. Too hard guessing on a team with a big spread, and I suck at halftime plays.

Futures ok yes I agree money can be made there, some bookies often fail to update futures or leave them open when games are still in progress, which can be quite handy. Whenever I play futures it never pans out the way I expect. How much would you invest on futures on a weekly basis?

1st half and 2nd half wagers can be a goldmine I agree. I am starting to think full game hcps and totals way too hard to beat overall unless you get best of lines of course.

Team totals is there any trick to them? How volatile can they be and how much do they vary at each bookie? Does Pinny offer them and everyone just copy or do others have opinions on these ones?

Inplay can be good but I have had enough of the robots at Betfair, they don't let you do anything much.

I have found that In-Play betting can be very profitable, at least since I started playing In-Play seriously at the start of the year.

The way I have been looking at the games is trying to figure out which way the price will move on a particular game (usually NBA as there tends to be more liquidity) and back or lay accordingly.

Then once the game kicks off, it is a matter of either waiting for the price to go your way and taking the other side. Even if the line doesn't go your way you can usually trade out of your position and worst case scenario you can recoup some of your stake back and end up with a much smaller loss that you would have had at the start - though often you can get yourself a green book and lock in a small profit whichever team wins.

If does take a bit of getting used to I found it was well worth testing the waters by just using chump change for a little while to begin with to get a better feel for general in-play trends etc

The trick is being able to distinguish when the game state is changing from one team to the other and getting in quick - if you can get a good read on a game, then the earlier you spot this then the better price you will get.

I have not been without some upsets though, usually by getting greedy and waiting too long to trade out of my bet and making a bigger margin - when I had already had the opportunity to guarantee a small profit either way. If you can set yourself a target that you are happy with and stick to it, then in the long run you should come out on top - it will just seem like a grind to begin with...
