wilheim i know you are the stat man and have all the history on sports and the world.wilheim today when i was puffing on a nice cuban cigar i was thinking of the great race horse cigar.where is cigar these days wilheim i know he was sterile and couldnt have baby horses but what is he doing wilheim.

i will never forget the excitement here in boston when cigar the great race horse ran a suffolk downs man there must have been 25,000 people at the track that day for the masscap.

wilheim does he have the record for most wins in a row i think he won 16 or 17 straight races

I AM TALKING ABOUT GRADE 1 HORSES NOT SOME NAG RUNNING AT A FAIR.CIGAR MUST HAVE THE RECORD FOR GRADE 1 HORSES.

CIGAR HAD SOMETHING SPECIAL HE WON THE MASSCAP TWICE IF I AM NOT MISTAKEN.

Cigar, born April 18, 1990 at Country Life Farm near Bel Air, Maryland, is a Hall of Fame Thoroughbred racehorse who in 1995 and 1996 became the first American racehorse racing against top-class competition to win 16 races in a row since the Triple Crown winner Citation did it in 1948 and 1950.

He is also the 2nd greatest money earner in North American history. A product of Maryland's oldest thoroughbred breeding farm, Cigar is the grandson of The Minstrel who was a son of the greatest sire of the second half of the 20th century, Northern Dancer. Out of the mare Solar Slew, who in turn was a daughter of the 1977 Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew, Cigar had the credentials to become a great race horse, but it took a few years for his greatness to materialize.

i dont know who was more popular at suffolk downs here in boston (cigar or skip away) both ran here twice in the masscap our biggest race and both drew huge crowds personally i liked cigar even though he was the odds on favorite the day i saw him 2/5.i think i still have my ticket i never cashed it i bet 2 bucks to win on cigar on his record winning streak.

I was at Delmar PAcific Classic the day Cigar streak snapped. was funny watching all the people lay 1/9. Cigar didnt even come close.
