Remember once when I was about 25 or 26, I was never a baseball player but I played round ball almost every night of the week and hit the gym almost as much..I went to a carnival with one of those baseball speed boxes. I was with a buddy and a couple of dates and I guess I tried to showoff, it is cloudy but I think I only threw the ball like 50 mph or something wimpish like that. I tried it like 10 times thinking I could do better but I never did. The only thing I can remember for sure is that for a week after that I could not lift my hand above my shoulder because of the pain and soreness... that was ego busting and painful. Never again.

But if I remember correctly isn't it harder to tell what speed you will throw after the 1st couple of pitches?
I've only done that TestYourSpeed deal one time and that was five years ago outside The Ballpark in Arlington when I was in town to meet my son for a Rangers game.
I was age 44 at the time and was all ready to dazzle Barman Jr but I swear to Christ in like six pitches (I think you got three for two bucks or so) I couldn't top 45 mph
He got a good laugh out of that until he himself could not do any better.
I do recall the first pitch I got like 38mph
Best part about those deals is watching the body language of the participants. Some pretty funny windup and deliveries.
