.... of course it lost!!! Woke up and expected to see more in my account this morning and wondered why. Turns out I was in a hurry and entered the wrong side. No one to blame but myself on this one. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr..... At least I didn't watch the game (lol). Now I'm just trying not to let it affect any bets today or in the near future.
Has this ever happened to anybody else? How did you handle it?
Has you ever done this and it actually went in your favor? War stories/advise please......

I have done this a few times in my Life. Some Win and of course, Mostly Lose.

Did have one about Two Years ago, where I wanted to Bet $200 on a Baseball game ( Philies ) and Hit one too many 0's ( $2000 )

Game had already started ( bottom of the 1st ) before I noticed.
There was no score and if I wanted, I could have called off the bet...But Didn't.
It Won !! so that was a Good Mistake. :103631605

that is true, rarely do they win....i had an exception one time though, been about 10 years ago now...i was out at Ellis Park, and betting simulcasting, during off season, it was during day on weekend, so they are showing about 10-12 different tracks.....was using the machine to bet with, rather than wait in line at teller, so i make my bets for the Keeneland race, then went to bet the #1 horse at another track, forgot to switch the "track listing" on the machine, and bet the #1 at Keeneland by mistake....50/50 win, place.....

dont realize it til race where i wanted the #1 is over, and the horse had lost and i go to throw the ticket away, and i have no ticket for that track...realize i have 2 tickets for keeneland, the #5 i wanted, and the #1 i wanted at the other track......its too late to get to window to cancel as they are loading the gate, so im screwed....until the #1 comes out of the gate on top, and never looks back, wins by about 6 lengths, at 12-1 odds.....got back almost 1300.00 on a pure mistake.......but that is the rarest of the rare occasions, it almost always bites you in the butt otherwise..

Betallsports and Bucsfan,

Two nice mistakes. If only I could be so "lucky"

It's not the first time I've done this either.... I think I'm about 1-3 with my "mistakes" so far.... definitely down money because of it.

Most of the mistakes I've made have either been overbetting or underbetting and forgetting to hedge stuff... I have a filter in my accounting for it, and it's showing a slight profit, which I'd expect given betting with an edge, it just messes up the variance a bit.

I did once, but cancled it.

I wanted to do nebraska -3 for the game a week ago, did first half instead. Decided to just cancle it out and lay off the game. Nebraska won the 1st half easy and lost the game. I wish i never noticed it was a 1st half play, would have been a nice surprise.

I have 2-3 times, but the one that sticks out in my mind the most went in my favor.

I tried to wager 1st half under on a Florida Gators basketball game a few years ago.

I found out about 10 minutes in I accidentally clicked over.

There was about 2 seconds left in OT and it looked as if the half was going to end a loser for myself as the total was 2.5 points under what the wager was.

It was then that the inbounds pass went to Teddy Dupay, he turned around and faded back in between half court & the 3point line and nailed a 3 pointer to put the total over by 1/2 point and give me a winner...:)<<

No doubt though that more go against us like this than they do for us.....

Usually 2 or 3X a year. It is very hard not to make this type of mistake when scalping. No matter how exact you try to be when betting fast before the odds change it's bound to happen.

About 3 years ago I thought I had a scalp in a baseball game when I realized I realized I bet on 2 different games instead. I lost about 1000 on first game and the second game was a Yankee game with Jeff Weaver pitching it was late in the season and the Yankees had the division locked up so they played with a lot of second stringers.

I never watched a game so intensely. Weaver pitched great luckily the Yanks won I won about $70 but could have lost $2000. Weaver became my favorite player after that game
