Basically a bet on Zags to beat Santa Clara or San Diego (which they will) in semi-final rd. Then you can hedge or scalp on the final

Pretty solid.

Last year Memphis at -250, despite the heavy juice was one the best bets I have ever seen. Games were played at Fedex Forum in Memphis and they weren't a 1 man team

i think Mr. Mills is going to have something to say about that if he returns. St. Mary's with Mills is better than Gonzaga.

Doesn't matter, Zags wouldn't play them til the Finals at which point you could scalp or hedge your bet as Zags will be decent favs over St MAry's even with Mills

Maybe but the whole point of the bet is if Gonzaga wins 1 game in which they will be double dig favs, they are in the finals, at which time you can let your Zags bet ride in the finals or take the opponent + the points or on the money line at +odds and name your profit margin.

You're missing the point. Don't care if Zags win the final or not (although they likely will in my opinion). If they win their semi-final game, you name your profit. And St Mary's could get tripped up b4 they see the Zags

why would i want to hedge though. i want a winner from the get go.

i think butler is the team you'd want to go with. all of there games will be at home, they play defense and they are the clear elite team of the conference.

from what i gather your saying, your saying for example put up 500 to win 500 for gonzaga to win the wcc tourney. then your saying if you dont like the final game, play the opponent ML in the final since they for sure will be a dog.

my only thing is i see st.mary's not even being a +200 dog vs. gonzaga if they reach the final. say its st. mary's +150. risk 500 to win 750.

st. mary's wins, you win 250. gonzaga wins, you win 0. just not worth the hassle imo.

Do I understand correctly, GTC08, that you don't bet sports? If so, why are you arguing with a guy about his pick? Are things that slow in politics?

East coast scumbags trying to say only 1 bid for WCC. But 5 for the hideous SEC. Gonzo would be -3 at most, refs would make sure StMArys wins.

Yes, it's such a hassle ... taking 10 seconds to input the futures bet on Gonzaga ... then another 10 seconds to place the hedge bet on their opponent in the final ... I can certainly understand your not wanting to undertake this series of incredibly taxing events.

In my experience, the people who say stuff like "that's too much trouble for only $100" or "that's a big hassle for only $250" are usually the people who don't have a pot to piss in.

What makes Gonzaga so automatic in the semifinal game. Santa Clara and Portland have been right there with them. They are only 5 deep and suck on the road.

They didn't lose a league game all yr, will have 90% of the crowd (when they played in San Diego it was like a home game), and you might notice Portland is on the other side of the bracket. Zags will be totally rested and won't need a bench

They were losing to Santa Clara with 7 minutes left. They were going to lose to StMArys before Mills got hurt late 1st half and still would have lost if the refs didnt suck them off. They did lose to marginal Portland State Austin Daye is a sissy down low. They are a fade for me.

i just dont like the bet because i dont think they will win, and i disagree with the logic behind it.

actually i take that back. itll win if mills is out.

butler is the better play.

i dont like tying up money just to hedge it in the end and possibly end up with nothing. i play to win young one.
