I've put a lot of effort this offseason into developing a simple yet effective, statistics based formula to measure a teams efficiency versus each opponent and SP. I'm fairly confident in the tool that I've developed (if your interested in the details of what I've come up with, read my blog post), but there is plenty of time before the season gets underway.

With my spare time, I decided that I'd try to find some books that analyze the mathematics and statistics of handicapping baseball/sports in general. Anyone know of any good books/internet posts?

On another note, pm me if your bored and have any suggestions or critiques about my formulas. For instance, I've been quietly debating myself about what to do about games that go into an absurd amount of extra innings. This would no doubt skew the results, but those extra innings represent more data that we can use to build up our database on that team.

I remember reading pops69's thread off and on a few years ago. I wasn't a member then though. If I remember correctly, that thread was very cryptic unless you had the files and knew what everyone was working with. Nice avatar btw :toast:

Maniilaq,

Been reading through Michael Murray's book. It's given me a lot of different insights to look into. Thanks for the input.
